ROUND 3 INTRO LOG
Welcome to The Island. The Witch extends her greetings to you on this fine day, and is pleased to finally begin the game. Please, take a seat.
Though this game may be more difficult than originally expected, there are high hopes placed upon you. Fight well against what awaits you in order to reach a truly sparkling end.
The difficulty level is challenging, but also depends on you. Think deeply on your moves as you play.
You wake with a start - even if you don't remember falling asleep in the first place - and find yourself standing on the dock of what looks like an island. There's a noise behind you - and if you turn to look, you'll see a plain white boat taking off and leaving you all behind, not stopping for a second if you try to flag them down or scream at them.
It doesn't look like you can swim to shore, either - there's nothing but sea in all directions, and something tells you trying to swim out will end up badly. However, a small dip, if you were so inclined, would be fine. It's not like the weather is bad for it - it feels like it's summer, despite it having been firmly springish at the Foundation.
...Speaking of, what happened? The last thing you remember is being...wherever you were, and then seeing a yellow bird come towards you. Perhaps it was in the corner of your eye, or landed on your shoulder...regardless, all of you saw the bird before you were whisked away to this strange island.
Is it a new SCP? Something like this isn't outside the realm of their abilities, after all.
And there's something else. Your abilities are blocked, beyond those natural to your body. Try as you might, you just can't use any of your more supernatural or superhuman skills - though all of your physical abilities are intact, of course.
There is also a...letter? on your person, as if it was there all along - in your pocket or in your hand. It is...a remarkably plain envelope, and even the letter itself is plain parchment.
It reads:
'To the players in this game,
First and foremost, let me begin with an apology: for many of you, this is not a good time to bring you here, and forcing you to play in this game instead of asking nicely is quite rude of me. For that, you have my apologies.
However, as you will soon find out, this game is quite necessary. I hand-picked all of you because I felt you were the best for this task, strange circumstances notwithstanding, and I am sure you will excel beyond even my expectations. Please give me some consideration and play this game to your best efforts. Success will be greatly rewarded.
I will be watching, and I will intervene if needed. But I think all of you are up to this task. I am in your debt for this.
- The Witch of ██████████'
...hm.
If you decide to head up the path, you'll find Goat....men? waiting for you near the doors to the mansion. Despite their bright red eyes, they merely bow politely and wordlessly bring you into the mansion, showing you your rooms and then stating that they will prepare food for you or anything else you should need whenever you want, in surprisingly deep voices.
As they leave, you can't help but wonder...
Where are you now?

[ He stepped back, even if he's an islander and used to fish he still doesn't want to get hit in the face with one by accident. Even if they appear not to be flopping anymore. ]
How about we just set those aside to be cooked for later?
no subject
Ah, but I'm hungry right now, and there's no point to catching fresh fish with my bare hands if I can't even enjoy them right after, right?
[It's not quite puppy-dog eyes, not yet, but he does give Riku (the total stranger?) an appealing look.]
If you know how to deal with these, then you must be-- [a chef] --somebody who really likes fish?
[Close enough??]
no subject
Yeah, I do. It's a bit of a process to get them prepared, but it's worth it. There should be a kitchen inside, so...follow me.
[ The building is a mansion, so it's only like common sense that he's came to this conclusion. ]
no subject
I was thinking about just eating them like this, but I'm kind of curious about your cooking, too, so I'll follow you! I hope it doesn't take too long. [or he might in fact start gnawing on the fish raw, why is he like this] And if I remember right... houses this fancy and this big should always have a pretty big kitchen, with a lot of servants, and...
[And he's going to keep chattering?? Have they met the goat butlers yet because this is good foreshadowing.]
no subject
...You really like to talk, don't you?
[ Guess what, there are the goat butlers as they're coming up on the entrance to the mansion, who of course gesticulate and motion them further into the mansion. ]
Looks like you were right about there being servants?
no subject
[Like, seriously, talking to the actual walls of his containment room was probably more edifying?? And considering his level of energy it really is like shutting a big and fluffy and terribly untrained dog into a very small room.
This is probably one of the better alternatives to how he could be letting off steam!
For example: when he sees the musclegoats his eyes light up.]
Servants! They look really strong, or kind of like the pictures little kids draw of demons. That probably means their master is really strong, too.
no subject
[ ...Like he should talk. Riku could be incredibly horrible at it and sticks to a small group of people he actually ends up talking up. ]
... I don't doubt it, actually. Their master probably had a hand in bringing us here and that already puts them high up in terms of skill.
no subject
[He seems to be extremely cheerful about reinforced solitary confinement or whatever the hell they get up to with him in the labs. Being a new SCP is terrible, but like, he mostly seems to be having a fit of pique about it.]
I don't know if it takes that much skill to kidnap a bunch of people and drop them on an island, though. That's a pretty common plot, right?
[Why does he not understand cooking but seem to have vague genre awareness: the real questions.]
no subject
[ Riku's honestly surprised the guy's so chipper, but really...the guy doesn't seem all that bad. Probably just a little...chatty, if anything. ]
A common plot? I don't really see a lot of that in anything I've watched or read. But I can't say I've had time to look too much into the mystery genre recently.
[ So the red head wins out on genre awareness in comparison. ]
no subject
[Guess who was also good at escaping, he just hasn't settled in to the point where he bothers too often. He's chatty and a huge pain in the ass, those are his primary talents (probably).]
Well... I don't think it's usually a mystery. More like... adventure! Or survival! Or horror. Does it count as a mystery if a lot of people die in it?
[Annnnd now it's morbid.]
no subject
[ Riku is all for dunking on the Foundation at all times, so he can believe it, and also because he is capable of being spiteful...not as much as some people but the organization has earned his ire. ]
...It probably still counts because we're going to need to uncover information in order to put a stop to all of this in the first place.
[ Also simultaneously wondering how he can be so chipper while talking about death... just why. ]
no subject
His stomach is also definitely joining the conversation at this point.]
Ah. Where do they usually keep the kitchen in these houses again...
[He's literally just going to start throwing open every door they come across. Gotta be thorough. :) Riku gets an answer in a moment.]
Ohh, right, you're talking about us being here! That's kind of a mystery. Why are we stopping the game when it hasn't even started?
no subject
...I'd have no idea where.
[ But hey, as the other is throwing open every door, Riku is helping too...opening the door to a place that the red head hadn't gotten to yet. ]
Well, I'm pretty sure we're not even supposed to be here in the first place. And I'm taking a wild guess that if we don't take care of the source of all of this, then whatever this situation ends up being will end up as a big problem.
So, that's why. [ ... ] Plus side for you is that we'd probably have to fight someone in order to do that in the first place.
[ ...He seems like the kind of guy who likes fights, so he figures it can't hurt to mention. ]
no subject
Maybe we can follow the smells?
[He starts sniffing the air like a dog..... Are they getting warmer. Is anyone even cooking to give them smells. Maybe they're getting the kitchen garden fruity smells??]
I guess it depends on what you think of as a problem, right? I think this is only the second time I've been kidnapped to a whole different place without having any warning at all! If this is the same as getting to the Foundation, there might be a bit of a problem.
[But just a little one. One he's been putting up with to a decent extent, apparently. Riku gets a brilliant grin for Understanding Fite.]
But if there are enough strong people to keep me in shape, I'm not going to complain at all!
