Mock round - Week 1 "Afterparty"
The deed was done. Two lives taken, in spite of the witch's promise.
It was a grizzly sight and a horrible punishment, but if Lambda can will things into being simply by being certain...

Bruno barely got a chance to catch his breath after watching Vanitas get churned into candy fragments. The curse was bad enough when the changes were gradual, but to have his form twisted and misshapen in an instant... Well, he was used to being a beast, but the sudden shift in form threw him off for a while.
Still, it had taken them an entire six hours to complete that trial, which means they may as well have some dinner.
Some time after everyone's had a moment to breathe, Bruno will slip some handwritten notes under everyone's door. Asuma might notice his handwriting's improved from the sample he saw from ten years ago:
Dinner's set up in the dining room. Feel free to help yourself to it. - Bruno
Bruno's not a cook, but by the time Luna took care of Vanitas' remains he managed to make a decent buffet arrangement out of warmed up leftovers and finger food. There are plates and utensils if anyone needs them.

This isn't your fault.

He lifts his head a little at the words, though he fails to actually turn Takashi's way.]
...Mm. I know. [Logically, at any rate. But his heart still hurts because that's what happens when you care too much, and he's not the type to let go of that pain so easily.]
It's a game, and we're competitors. Not everyone can win. So, to make sure I won, someone had to catch him.
[There's all kinds of justifications like that.]

... not telling you to get over it, I'm just saying this is something we all have to carry.

[The question comes suddenly, a thread of urgency in it. He wants to think it is, to think it's all just an elaborate illusion, but...]
