It was noon on Friday.

No matter where they were, no matter what they were doing...the moment the chimes rang out through the hall, they felt a change.

The world...began to expand, as they felt themselves leaving the world they were on, and towards another, much larger world...🗈

This new world looked like...the inside of an ornate courtroom, like something that wouldn't be too far from some kind of grand fantasy novel.

The Witch, Lambdadelta was there, sitting in the most important place, smiling brightly at everyone. There was no music to be heard, but... perhaps on another plane, in another place, someone else heard music as they gazed upon the proceedings.

As they looked around, they might have also been surprised to see that their forms had changed - perhaps only slightly, or a much more dramatic change. It seemed like this place demanded a different form in some way, even if it was just a change of clothing.

...There was a deep silence in the room, one that no one wanted to break. It was the faint tension in the air, like the moments before a race or a competition begins.

Yesterday had been the start of the game. But now, armed with all they knew...now, they had to truly go up against the Witch, and somehow.....win.

Maybe. Hey, maybe he had his hand over the opening to keep it closed? Maybe the knife was even acting as a block to keep the door from closing fully?

[ He's trying to make a knife out his fingers and then the door with the other. ]

We have no way of knowing which scenario is correct... And now I'm beginning to wonder just how much we must guess correctly to combat Lady Lambdadelta's claim. [ There are so many possibilities here. If they must answer everything, this will be very difficult.

And they're running out of time. ]

I think we just have to come up with a good theory! But.... if we don't correctly identify the culprit, then they get their wish and the rest of us don't.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. We need to figure out who did it. Which... sure is tough.

... Well, even if we don't get the culprit right, we'll still beat the Witch! So that's a win in my book.

Maybe we should start narrowing down who it could have been?

It sounds like almost everyone here comes from a world where guns exist besides Vanitas.

Who are people Riku would have let inside that night?

At this point, it could have been almost any of us... but I guess I should defend myself, right?

Without my powers, I can barely walk up the hill without getting tired. There's no way I could have taken someone as fit as Riku on, even if he were the same size as I was!

You only have my word, but as a student of magic, guns don't typically occur to me as a weapon. That's more of the military's thing, but I think they mainly use rifles?

Really... without my magic, I don't think there are many of you I could have fought and won.

I don't know if he even trusted me or liked me. I got the feeling he was just putting up with me, you know?

Also I wouldn't touch a gun. Those things can seriously mess up your arms and shoulders.

I could come up with any number of theories. To come up with one that seems likely, however... [ A small shake of her head. ]

Until I can sort through my thoughts, I'll withhold on presenting a proper theory. For now, your mention of wishes has reminded me of something. Many of us have worked hard through this trial, some in the hopes of having our wishes granted and others for the sake of shedding light on Riku's death. We all know how hard some of us have worked.

But... surely there must be some here who contributed less. I'd like to ask those people of their wishes and if they'd still like them to be granted.

Seriously? That's your reason for suspecting me?

I never said anything about suspecting you, I was just going along with Lunafreya's suggestion of asking people who haven't ccontributed information to the trial.

That's what she was getting at, right?

Doesn't mean you don't suspect me. The whole point of looking at those who haven't contributed much, is to get on with forming a list of those who're suspected of being the bad guy.

I doubt you'd be stupid enough to toss a weapon in two separate rooms. It'd be smarter to toss the gun on Jack along with the knife.
