MOCK WEEK - WEEK 1 TRIAL

It was noon on Friday.

No matter where they were, no matter what they were doing...the moment the chimes rang out through the hall, they felt a change.

The world...began to expand, as they felt themselves leaving the world they were on, and towards another, much larger world...🗈

This new world looked like...the inside of an ornate courtroom, like something that wouldn't be too far from some kind of grand fantasy novel.

The Witch, Lambdadelta was there, sitting in the most important place, smiling brightly at everyone. There was no music to be heard, but... perhaps on another plane, in another place, someone else heard music as they gazed upon the proceedings.

As they looked around, they might have also been surprised to see that their forms had changed - perhaps only slightly, or a much more dramatic change. It seemed like this place demanded a different form in some way, even if it was just a change of clothing.

...There was a deep silence in the room, one that no one wanted to break. It was the faint tension in the air, like the moments before a race or a competition begins.

Yesterday had been the start of the game. But now, armed with all they knew...now, they had to truly go up against the Witch, and somehow.....win.

Right?

Not sure. Maybe that's 'l' was part of another letter? 'SORRY'? Heh, too late for that, Culprit.

If we believe that was the culprit's intention, what could have interrupted them?

I suppose we could assume that. I can think of two reasons the culprit may become frightened, though I put little stock in both.

The first would be hearing someone outside the room, however... In that case, they would have left through the window. If they were so hasty as to run away, they would not leave the window closed and locked. [ And she thinks she remembers Takashi say he broke in from the window. ] The second is if they believed Riku dead, came forward, and he startled them. That could be when they fired the shot that killed him...

Yet, I see no reason why they would not continue their message afterward. Even if they were unsettled, there are other pieces of evidence that make such a scenario odd. I think the simplest reading is that Riku himself wrote the message.

Hmmm... Maybe they shot him in the belly and the chest... and Riku fell down! Then, as they were writing the message, he got back up, scared them, and they shot him in the head... then decided to bail. I just feel like... if Riku had been doing the writing, he would have been facing the door.

... I'm still not sure about that knife, though.

I'm still uncertain that is what happened. The angle is indeed odd if Riku were not facing the door, yet I maintain that there is no reason the culprit would not continue the message after he were truly dead.

I find that scenario odd due largely to the stab wounds from the stake. If... it were even the stake. [ Seems like it was? Probably? ] I presume they were made after Riku died in an attempt to cover the gunshots. If the culprit went to that much trouble then I cannot see them forgetting to continue.

Hmmm... That DOES make sense...

It sounds as though he started writing and died while doing so. Then whoever killed him moved him to cover the bullet wounds. Though I cannot think of how they'd have shot him so cleanly if that was the case.

By that time, he may not have had use of his hand. It could be he was stabbed by the knife before he was ever shot. The pain and injury itself may have made it difficult for him to fight back.

Huh— yeah that makes sense especially if they went to all that effort to throw us off.
