MOCK ROUND - WEEK 1 INVESTIGATION

It had almost been a week since everyone had been brought here.
The days had gone by with no hint of trouble, not from the Witch, or any of her servants. It almost seemed like nothing would happen after all.

Yet, as everyone woke up...something felt different.
It felt...like they were about to take a step into the darkness.🗈

Like they were going to see something that shouldn't be seen....or feel something that shouldn't be felt.

This....was a fake game, right...? Then why....was there this ominous feeling? Like something nearby was just...waiting for them to stumble the right way, bringing them closer to it's hungry mouth...

...

No matter what it is, though, they had to step forward.

They had....to finally, truly start this game.

[He has a lot of questions for Lambda, that's for sure.]

[ He's studying Asuma's face for a moment. Then, he gives a small smirk. ]

You have it in you to see this thing through to the end, then?

[Another one of those strained smiles.]

[ STARING AT THAT SMILE, eyes narrowing. ]

Faking a smile doesn't change anything about what's happening, you know.

[He sighs. Vanitas...]

No, I know it doesn't. But it's sort of laughable, isn't it?

All of us were brought here because we have a wish we're willing to go through lengths for. Lady Lambdadelta even told us it's all just pretend to ease our fears.

Is it really, though? It might still be an illusion she cast. Maybe she's changed things around to make it harder for us to tell who the real culprit is with that magic of hers.

The alternative is... in order to grant their wish, someone was willing to go so far as to...

What's so laughable about any of this? In the end, we're still stuck here - still trapped in a game.

That we're the ones deemed most capable of this sort of thing, I suppose. And that because of that, it turned out like this.

[Some of them he can see very easily; Vanitas, for one, but Takashi and Scarred as well. But others... Silver and Chitoge? Much less so.]
