TRIAL

After a very, very long six weeks, it has finally come. The last time everyone will need to trudge up those stairs and meet in the master suite. It's do or die time, and hopefully everyone knows what needs to be done by now.

As soon as the guests walk into the room, they will be able to smell the food that the chef has provided: duck l'orange, served up on a nice platter. Eat up everyone!

There are a few unexpected guests this time. A large group of the rats is here, and they show up in a swarm as they carry Gabe into the room, much like how they had carted him off to the Child Daycare last night. Once he is deposited in the room, Gabe will also stand up and remain there, crossing his arm and looking a bit standoffish.

They're not the only unexpected faces around here, though...

Thank you so much, Cali. Thank you for your kindness before with Doppel and thank you for this now. I'm going back to the foundation, but I have hope that some day, we can change it. We have hope that things will get better. I will come to visit if I can.

[They've only briefly discussed this, but she's unhappy with the idea of Cinqueling still being within the Foundation's reach in her current state. But it's also worrying to think of the Foundation's relationship to this place.

There's a lot here to be conflicted about, all of a sudden (or not so sudden), but they still have the time to think this over.]

It will be painful, but I will be brave. I want to be with everyone and I trust that they will do their best to change things.

You could still be with us here, you know. I don't think any of us could stay away from this place forever.

[And... not entirely intentionally, she's also giving her own decision. Of course she could stay here, especially if people important to her were staying here -- she's tired enough to sleep for three years and change at this point and she'll probably try to at least get in some z's after this.

But at her core, she's not very good at just staying out of things, especially when it concerns all the people she's unwittingly become connected to. So, she offers that, just as a last-ditch effort to give an alternative.

They both probably have a very clear idea where they're going, at this point.]
