Everyone's time is running out - but on friday, the lights return back to normal light, and the rats squeak loudly, clawing at the plastic of their little closed off areas.
Something is happening - and it seems the time has come for action.
[As they go down the hallway - just like all the others before it, doorless and incredibly long, they eventually find themselves....
...In a replica of the restaurant? There are exits north, east, and west, but before they can really move...a large flare of light comes, bringing with it-]
The whole scene is seen from above, as if from a security camera watching over a room. It takes place in the dining room, where a red-headed boy and an older black man seem to be sitting to eat a meal. While they eat, they have papers they’re going over, clearly a working lunch of some sort.
Their conversation can also be heard, even though they should be far enough away to be inaudible.
The boy speaks first as he points to something on one of the papers. “You really think this place is an euclid, Reyes?”
“Yeah,” the man answers, “It’s unpredictable, but I don’t see anything dangerous about it.”
“...People disappearing isn’t dangerous?”
“I’m pretty sure it’s not the resort itself that’s making those people disappear. You’ve seen the other SCPs roaming about here. THOSE are the culprits, I think. At least a couple of them might be keters.” The man pauses to take a bite of his lunch, and then he slides another paper over. “I think we saw this guy here last week, for example.”
The boy looks at that page, and he winces, as if it brings back some unpleasant memories. “And a place that houses SCPs isn’t dangerous on its own?”
“Probably not.” Another bite of food goes in his mouth. “We’re just doing a rough draft of the article anyway. The higher-ups can make the final call. I’d still say euclid.”
The boy shrugs, and then starts eating some of his food - but pauses for a second. “If that’s the case, you could almost call this place a mini-Foundation, couldn’t you? It’s pretty similar to a containment facility, anyway.”
“No,” the man says almost immediately, frowning, “this is definitely not like the Foundation. You could actually leave this place if you wanted.”
[And then, the memory fades - leaving only this place behind.]
[North actually leads them to another room, except....there's no exits beyond the one they just came in. And...
It's...familiar.
It's a replica of The room you all were in when you found the papers - and a bright flash of light appears again, revealing:]
This video is of the older man’s bedroom. The older man is sitting at his chair at his desk, and he has a bottle of liquor with him. The bottle is opened, but not much of it has been consumed yet. The man seems to be too focused on the papers on the desk, and is hurriedly scrawling notes. This lasts for a couple minutes, with the only real change being the man shifting in his chair a bit.
Suddenly, the man coughs, and a bit of black smoke comes out of his mouth. The man frowns as he watches the smoke dissipate. He opens the drawer of his desk, and he pulls out a medicine bottle. He opens it, and he looks at the pills inside.
“Twelve? I thought I had more left than that.”
But still, the man takes a pill out, and he swallows it, chasing it down with a drink of his liquor. Then he puts the pill bottle away and returns to his work.
[As the memory fades away, the exit to the room is still behind you, apparently not tampered with.]
[West leads them into yet another hallway, which takes much longer to traverse - they walk for what feels like hours - but at the end of it, they find....
The pool? It's another recreation, but a single look will tell you it's not water in there, but...some kind of cerebral fluid.
Much like before, the lights flare to life -]
The man and the boy are standing near the wall in the pool room, specifically the exterior wall. The man has a rather large sledgehammer, and the boy is standing there watching. The boy, for his part, has a skeptical look on his face, and his arms are crossed in front of him.
“It’s not going to work.”
The man scoffs at him. “It’s going to work. They can’t keep us trapped here.” He sounds more tense and focused than he has in previous videos. This is the sound of a man on a mission.
The boy still sounds unconvinced. “They said to just wait - Reyes, it’s not like they blocked anyone from leaving before-”
“Things are changing,” the man says, interrupting the boy as he hoists up the sledgehammer, “Those things, they’re changing this hotel. We have to get out of here, and we can’t wait for this damn place to decide to open up its doors.”
The man then hoists up the sledgehammer and starts going to town on that wall, breaking off siding and getting under the drywall. It takes a while to work through, but after a minute or so he’s started to make a pretty good dent in the wall. He’s not all the way through yet, but he’s making progress.
Then several staff members come closer, looking nervous. “Sir,” one of them says, “We must ask that you please do not damage hotel property!”
The man ignores them, and he keeps swinging at the walls. The boy looks to the man, then to the staff, then back and forth a few more times. He’s clearly conflicted here, but he looks like he’s about to do something when -
One staff member, carrying a stun gun, steps forward and shoots the man with it. The man lets out a cry and drops to the ground, convulsing slightly as he lays there.
The scene ends with the boy screaming out ‘GABE!’ and running to the fallen man’s side.
He'll... try opening a portal, or something. He'll try catching the group, or something. If it doesn't work, it wouldn't be the first time he's just fallen into nothingness. :)

Soon, though, it comes back out - dragging some papers with it.]

Ah. ]
SCPs...
[ For now, he's going to focus on the Japanese, looking at the other three as he points to it: ]
Can any of you read that?

I can’t. It looks like Japanese, though.

[ Reads.
But not out loud. ]

[and that's all she'll say on that.]
It's just commentary from Ichigo about how the tatami dummy was better suited to him than he expected it to be. Which, given the generic request...
[she seems to be thinking ahead though...]
Why is there blood...?
[time to go... open the closet?]

Though the rat scampers out of the room, running up the stairs.
It's clearly headed for the third floor, towards the storage room.]

But, also, he isn't even gonna hesitate to follow.
Bye, guys. ]

[Split up, he says, just in time to see Vanitas leave. He follows after a moment, but not before looking to make sure the others are as well.]

[but that mystery solved, and noticing the quick leaving, well.
Makoto's not going to wait behind to solve a mystery that they could... frankly solve at any time, later.

There's an opening to their left, which leads deeper in. Continue?]
