[It all happens too fast for Ripley to actually realize what's going on until the knife is in her chest. She lets out a startled wheeze before slumping to the ground, watching the blood pour out of her chest and onto her hands.

She catches the eye of Snake, then gestures for him to come closer.]

...Hey. [More blood comes out as she slumps over onto her side.] I gotta ask something real quick.

[Snake complies, and kneels down, taking a hand, regardless of how bloody.]

[There's blood being smeared on your hands, now, Snake. She lets out a ragged wheeze, then coughs up another round of blood, struggling to come up with the words to say. She manages to spit out a sentence, though--]

Can you--Can you, like, look into the stab wound and see if there's actually a baboon heart in there?

[Snake pauses, and almost laughs for the sheer absurdity of it.]

What'll you do if the answer's yes?

Well, I'll die knowing I actually had a baboon heart.

[She lets out a single laugh and an expression of pain instantly washes over her face as more blood pours out.]

Jesus, it hurts to-- [She chokes again, though she's too weak to sit up.] Who--Who fucking knew bodies had so much goddamn blood in it?

Medic hovers over Ripley like a nervous mother hen, trying to staunch bleeding that he knows can't be stopped-
