Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.
Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.
There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...
Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.
So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.
((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.
This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Or why he's holding a pair of swords. Surprised and confused, he lets go of them, and they vanish into thin air before even hitting the ground.]
What...?
[That was weird as hell, but swords are hardly the most pressing concern here.
He glances around at the others around him to try and tell if anyone's in any immediate danger. Since it doesn't look that way, and since people are already heading ahead, he starts to walk as well. It's not like there seems to be much else that he can do.]
no subject
Hey! How did you do that?
no subject
[He has no actual memory of doing anything, but he can hazard a guess. At least as to the how. Why he would have projected those swords is a mystery in itself.
Anyway, should he answer the question? He might not care much about the rules, but telling people about magic might still be a bad idea.]
I... don't know?
[nailed it]
no subject
It looks like you channeled your Ki into forming actual weapons...
[The How, he can't figure out]
no subject
[That's actually pretty much exactly correct, if you think of mana and Ki as the same thing.]
But we should leave talking about that for when we find some shelter. We're all going to be in a lot of trouble if we stay out here too long.
no subject
[Slowly he scans his surroundings, brows knitting]
But where to...?

I think you're just a little taller!
[ This is very important for some reason. ]
no subject
It seems I am, yeah.
[It's not like he minds having it pointed out, though. He appreciates being taller than people.]
no subject
I think you're taller than Eighty even. Oh, but don't tell him I said that.
[ Don't be a narc, Shirou. ]

Is he here?
[Because why else would you be bringing him up]

And goodbye, swords!]
A sword-ability?
[aka HELLO FELLOW MAGIC-Y PERSON it's good not to be the only person with an ability here.]
no subject
[A fellow mage wouldn't ask it like that, but the guy doesn't seem surprised either? Weird.]
no subject
How would you describe it, then?
no subject
It's magic.

[ sorry shirou but owain is rushing up to you really excited ]
Can you make swords appear in addition to making them disappear?

relatable]
Uh, well. Kind of.
no subject
Truly an amazing ability to possess. Tell me, is it something that one can easily obtain?
no subject
Not unless you're a mage.

She absolutely is still stunned. ]
Did those swords just disappear? [ She's not imagining things, is she. Please don't tell her she's going crazy. ]
no subject
Well, who cares. The rules are stupid anyway.]
They did.

[ Her voice isn't accusatory but instead is rather curious, instead. ]
no subject
[There really isn't any point in trying to hide the truth. It's probably going to be fine.]
Would you believe me if I said magic?

Nice magic trick.
[this guy says blandly, before he casually passes a thermos of coffee over to Shirou]
no subject
[Was that a real compliment or sarcasm, how is he supposed to be able to tell
Anyway, taking the thermos and looking it over curiously.]
And thanks for this. What is it?
no subject
Hot coffee. It should warm you up, if you need it.
