INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.

((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Depends. You got anything useful to say?

[ Kohaku guesses not, judging by that surprise scream, but... pretty much any input about the situation would be appreciated at this point. ]

Nope! I don't even know where to start on sorting out a problem like suddenly showing up in the middle of a snowy road with a bunch of strangers!

[RIP.]

... yeah, that figures. Sucks to be us.

[ Except it could suck a lot more because Kohaku is finding himself headache free for the first time in literal years, so there's... a weird levity he's feeling that even the situation can't quite get rid of. ]

A garbage guy like me can't be expected to understand a crazy situation like this...

[Ahaha... although he does look around them now, taking in their surroundings properly.]

-Hm?

[ A garbage guy...? Jeeze, who calls themselves that? That just takes the fun right out of insulting someone. ]

What's wrong, kid?

[He's going to have a very unfun time trying to insult this guy, that's for sure.]

-Weird. There's something weird about this place.

[Are those numbers... repeating? For as long as Yoshi's had this power, he's never quite seen something like that before.]

... well, yeah. The fact that we appeared here out of thin air could have tipped you off on that.

[ Though Kohaku's still paying attention to Yoshi - if the boy knows something, he wants to know as well. ]

No, I mean...

The numbers for this place keep repeating? I've never seen anything like it.

[ Duh. ]

I'm seeing only snow.

I can see the world as numbers. Usually they don't repeat themselves like this, though!

It reminds me of one of those retro video games...

That sounds pretty nuts.

[ But this whole situation is nuts and, actually, so is the world, so... ]

[ Kohaku's just rubbing his forehead by now. His constant migraine may be gone, but this kid is a new headache and a half. ]

[ WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS CHILD. It's terrible, Kohaku's actually mildly concerned now and that's... really annoying. What the hell. He didn't sign up for this. ]

They're not calling you that to make you happy, you know that, right?

Huh? They seemed to have fun with it at first.

But after a while they just didn't want to see me anymore, so I went ahead and stopped going to school.
