INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.

((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

[ I mean he weighs like 3 ounces so this isn't going to be a challenge, but she's happy that someone else wants to help him!! ]

[Then Yoshi will just reach into the snow and hopefully pull out Chu-chu without problems?!]

[ Hell yeah he will.

Chu-Chu initially looks a little alarmed upon being pulled up into the air on a stick, but then he drops down to the ground and poses triumphantly, like he managed that daring escape all by himself. ]

Gesundheit.

[ Belatedly. ]

[Yoshi just laughs delightedly.]

He's cute! I'm glad you've been reunited!

Thank you, I'm glad too.

[ Anthy smiles -- she approves of your pro-Chu-Chu stance, kid. ]

Do you have any friends here?

Nope! That's impossible!

[Said with the same smile as before.]

I don't even have friends at home, so there's no way my friends could be here!

[ Her smile doesn't change either. Her whole circle of friends -- Utena-sama excluded, because that's different -- is right here, and it's a point-to-point straight line. ]

Ah, I see.

[ WELL THEN. Chu-Chu holds out his tiny paw for a handshake/fingershake. Put 'er there, friend. Nothing can ever go wrong with accepting a monkey paw. ]

[He'll go ahead and offer a finger for Chu-Chu to shake!]

Nice to meet you, um... Chu-Chu?

Chu!

[ shakes! ]

[This has been a good life experience.]

So... now that just leaves getting back home?

[He completed the side quest, so on to the main quest! Probably.]

[ Congratulations on your new friend.

But okay, at that her smile does dim a little. ]

I wonder... We don't even know why we're here yet, do we?

Nope!

[SMILES CONTINUE.]

But there's a lot of other people around here. Maybe one of them can help us out! ...Or at least help us find shelter.

Yes, I guess we could talk to some of them.

[ NOT ECSTATIC ABOUT THE "LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE" PART, but sure... you do most of the talking, and she'll hang back a few steps. ]

[This is his first time talking to other people in like four months. He watches her hanging back for a moment before:]

Um... are you leaving it to me?

Is that a problem?

I'm not very good with people... actually, it's probably more accurate to say I'm disgustingly terrible at it!

I'm not very good with strangers either.

[ Or non-strangers... ]

Well, it seems like a big enough group that we can probably just follow the rest.

Following the crowd so we don't have to talk to anyone else! I like your thinking.

[And then, an embarrassed laugh:]

To be honest, this is my first time talking to others in a while, so... it's kind of draining!

[SURELY THIS WON'T POSE A PROBLEM LATER, THOUGH.]

I've been told before that I have that effect.

That you're draining to talk to?

That's right.

[ More like people have said it about her without much regard for whether she could hear or not, but it's all the same to her.

Anyway, she doesn't give any indication that she has any strong feelings about that assessment either way. ]

Hmmm...

I think you're just about as draining to talk to as anyone else!
