INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.

((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Aw, but we can't let all this snow go to waste!

I don't think you need to worry about the snow going to waste, though I kind of understand how you feel...

[ After all, playing in the snow with everyone would be nice... But now wasn't the time for that. They needed to focus on the situation right now. Okay, she just has to treat this guy like one of her kids. Like one of her kids... ]

For the time being, we need to find a place to stay, though. We can play in the snow once we have somewhere safe to stay. We don't know how long it'll take to find somewhere safe, after all.

Mm, well, that's true...

[ well, at least ellie managed to stop flat from continuing his reign of snowball terror! he doesn't look upset about it either, considering that she puts up a good point. ]

I wonder how far it's gonna be until we find something. I mean, from the movies I've seen, this is all a really bad situation.

This is a bad situation, but it's not as bad as it could be. One of the bigger threats in these kinds of situations is that there are no landmarks to go by so one can get lost really easily. As long as we follow the road, we can be certain that we'll run into some sort of civilization eventually, which is better than a person would get in a full blizzard.

Considering we're wearing winter clothes, whatever we're here for, someone made sure we're prepared for it...

[ She shifts to a frown as she starts thinking about the situation again, since none of this makes any sense. If they were going to bring everyone somewhere, why dump them out in the middle of nowhere? If the intention was to have them die lost in the middle of nowhere, they wouldn't have been given winter clothing, so that's not it either... ]

It's... really weird...

Yeah, totally. Whoever brought us here wants us to find a place-- that's probably their plan from the beginning. Not gonna lie, I think it'd probably be just as dangerous to do what they want but we'd probably freeze to death here, too, even with all these clothes.

[ he shrugs, as if this was obvious ]

It is pretty weird though. And I've seen a lot of weird things before!

In the end, we have to go according to whatever they're planning if we don't want to freeze...

Well, maybe we can get a more clear view on what's going on once we find whatever it is.
