INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.

((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

... No reason. It's just kind of a weird situation, so...

[AHEM.]

I'm glad you're real.

[He tilts his head. Some of the half-melted snow slides off.]

Yeah it is. I'm glad you're real too?

[ This is a serious situation...probably but really part of him is glad to have his own body again. But the other part is kind of obscenely wary because as far as he can tell, Sora, his friend, and none of his friends are around.

That being said... ]

By the way, you missed a spot.

[ He totally assumes Minato tilted his head to get all of the snow off. ]

... A spot of what...?

[YEAH he's just totally unaware that some of the snow is left on his head.]

[ MINATO...he'll give a short laugh. ]

Really? You haven't noticed yet?

[ He'll reach over to point at some of the snow left on Minato's head. ]

There's still some snow on your head.

[..... ... .... hm.]

Oh...

[He shakes his head a bit more. Another piece of snow slips from his head.

It plops to the ground, and he makes a face.]

Ah.

There really is more snow there...

Yeah, there is. We should probably get going so you don't get a head cold.

[ He double checks to see if that got all of the snow off of his head, though. ]

[The snow is off his head now...!! ...After he brushes off his hair a bit more.

It's fine.]

Yeah... i guess so.

But get going to where...?

I think our best bet is to go forward for now.

[ Or he feels that it is...for some reason, as if drawn to it. ]

Maybe we'll find some people or a town nearby?

That's true... it'd be nice if we could find some sort of town.

Let's do our best to see what we can find.

[ Hopefully it won't take too long. Being out in the cold for hours and days is not ideal. ]

Yeah. And if we're going to be working together too, we should probably trade names -- mine's Roxas.

I'm Minato.

[Introductions are good and familiar ground.]

It's nice to meet you, Roxas-san. I'll be counting on you while we try to get through this.

[ He looks a little surprised before he nods, determination seeping into his expression for a moment before he finally starts to make a movement to walk. ]

...And I'll be counting on you too. [ ... ] Can you tell me what place you came from? Before you arrived here.

Where I came from...?

[An odd question, but not one he really minds.]

I'm from Iwatodai, Japan. That's where I was before this, too. What about you?

[ Roxas doubts inside of someone, technically would go over well as an answer and probably sound insane, soooo. Maybe not saying that now. ]

I came from Twilight Town. I haven't heard of a place called Iwatodai, though...

[Where the fuck is Twilight Town. That sounds like something out of a video game.]

I suppose it's not that large, so if you're not from Japan it's reasonable you wouldn't have heard of it...

[...]

What country is Twilight Town in?

[ Sure does, doesn't it ... ]

I don't really think I've even heard of Japan either.

[ So, yeah. Roxas figures it might just be some kind of world - possibly a large one. ]

Twilight Town is kind of just it's own thing, so it's not really in a 'country' or anything.

[...well.]

I guess I might be even further from home than I thought, if that's the case...

I don't know how far this world is from mine or yours, but that's probably not wrong.

[ Whoever took them would probably want to make sure they're a good distance, he thinks. ]

[He doesn't like that, but...well, what can they do about it now?]

It's good to know, either way. Better to find out early, I think, than be surprised later...

[ He's used to being on different worlds, and he raises his hand for a moment, thinking of Twilight Town. But nothing happens, and he allows his hand to drop by his side. ]

I think so too - there's already a lot we don't know.
