Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.
Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.
There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...
Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.
So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.
((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.
This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Minato tilts his head (some snow slides off with a wet-sounding plop, warmed by Minato's head), and answers:]
That's...Descartes, right?
no subject
[A beat. Said a bit sheepishly:]
They used it in Blade Runner.
no subject
[He doesn't think he's seen Blade Runner... but he definitely studied a bunch of philosophical bullshit thanks to the Persona bullshit he's got going on in his head.
Ahem.
Anyway.]
It doesn't really matter, I guess. What really matters is that you're real. Which is reassuring, honestly.
no subject
[But it begs the question...]
Why did you think I might not be?
no subject
...Well, this entire situation is pretty crazy, right...? It's hard to believe this many people could be dumped in a place like this randomly. So...
[Checking! To make sure he's not hallucinating or something.]
... Maybe the cold was getting to me already, or something.
no subject
[It’s spoken almost conspiratorially; whatever circumstances led him to that attitude, it’s clear enough that he’s assuming Minato has been privy to them as well.]
This is a new one, though. Anyways... I’m Hunter. What’s your name?
no subject
It's Minato.
[... He's trying to place where a name like Hunter may be from, but...]
... It's nice to meet you. I'm kind of impressed as how well you've been taking all of this, to be honest.
no subject
[He pauses, glancing towards Minato again.]
I'm assuming you're just as confused as I am about that first part.
no subject
[Thoroughly so.]
I wouldn't mind some answers, but it doesn't seem like any of us here have them.
no subject
[He pauses, though, glancing away.]
Maybe it's weird, but that's kind of a relief, honestly.
no subject
Maybe it's weird, but...
[He shrugs a little.]
At least we're all in this together, right?
no subject
Yeah. I'm... kind of used to being the only one who has no idea what's happening.
[And then, after a few moments of thought:]
I guess the best thing to do for now is just head down this path.
no subject
Yeah, I'd agree with that. There's no need to panic yet.
[Who knows what's waiting for them?]
Let's see what we find.
no subject
What do you think it'll be? What we find, I mean.
no subject
[He rubs the back of his head, before he shoves his hands back into his pockets (cold).]
But I kind of hope it's some sort of warm shelter.
no subject
You want my scarf? I'm from Toronto, so I'm pretty used to the cold.
no subject
No, it's okay. It's cold, but this coat is pretty warm... I just don't like being cold.
[He's going to have a Tough Time here.
Either way--!!]
Thank you, though...that's really nice of you.
no subject
It's not a big deal. I just thought - we might have a long walk ahead of us, so it'd be good to at least offer.
no subject
[HONESTLY...]
Walking through the woods sounds a little boring. [On top of being cold... Minato's a city boy, okay.]
no subject
[The myriad ways this could quickly become eventful rather than boring are absolutely on his mind.]
no subject
... I guess you make a good point. I don't want to run into any bears. Or...whatever else would live out here.
Wolves...?
no subject
Or whoever brought us here...?
no subject
You think they dumped us into the woods and are waiting to make a dramatic entrance later...?
[He could...sadly kind of see it from some villains.]
no subject
[He doesn't explain who 'they' are, but there's that same expectation that Minato will understand regardless.
no subject
... You have a very good point.
Okay, let's prepare ourselves for overdue ambushes from our kidnappers too, then.
