Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.
Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.
There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...
Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.
So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.
((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.
This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

It doesn't normally look so... distressed. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it was sabotaged by whoever brought us here.
Wound sealer is accurate enough, I suppose. It's capable of healing most non-mortal wounds and a few mortal ones. It can also provide temporary invulnerability to all forms of damage when charged up enough.

[A medic and an engineer...impressive.]
Guess they didn't want to make things too easy for us. [She grimaces, tucking her jacket slightly tighter around herself.] Whoever they are.

It's bad enough that our Administrator keeps a hand on everything we do. The last thing I need is my life's work mass produced in a military to fight more useless wars.

[Cus what's better than doing army stuff than doing army stuff with capitalism?]
So, what exactly are you fighting for? Or...uh. What were you fighting for?

Ah... That's a difficult question, my friend. How do I put this simply?
[Day 1 unlock
Medics tragic backstorythe convoluted nightmare that is tf2 canon]So. Two companies, led by opposing brothers, have been fighting for over a century over a useless scrap of land. They've both hired mercenaries throughout the years to try to beat the opposition. My comrades and I are just one team of many throughout the years...
Oh, and the team we normally fight was just- clones of us. No one's ever been able to figure out why or how?
It's a useless war, plain and simple, but it's one I fought for years. The pay was excellent, I was allowed free reign to do whatever I wish in the labs and infirmary, and we have technology that brings people back from the dead when killed during most skirmishes.
Which is part of why this war has gone on for years. If neither side can truly die, you're locked in a permanent stalemate!
Of course, a few years ago the brothers were killed by their secret long-lost brother raised by eagles, he took over with robots, we spent years fighting them, then the teams were wholly disbanded, I was rehired, drafted into trying to kill my friends-
Look, the last year has just been a lot.

Hell, wars have been fought over smaller things. But...I wasn't aware cloning technology had been perfected to the point you could keep locked in a permanent stalemate. Or...you know. Necromancy technology, apparently.
[theres like a whole lot to unpack about medics thing but ripley isnt really inclined to ask him about the intricate details about everything]
Hell, it's nice enough that your employer even considers you to be valuable enough to revive. At Weyland-Yutani, everyone's expendable.

Well, with Australium, just about anything's possible! Or at least, it was. I don't know what'll happen now that the reserves are dried up.
I don't know if she really considered us valuable, just. Useful tools that she could order around without too much resistance.
