Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.



((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

I own an airsoft shop. It's necessary to know a thing or two about strategic thinking.

[He's telling the truth, but he sure didn't get that mindset from owning a store related to that hobby, even if it's vaguely military. That's just how he is]

Hmmm. Well, hopefully, we won't have to bust out any guns along the way.

[She's half joking. She'd rather have an uneventful walk than any sort of excitement. She's had more than enough excitement for a lifetime.]

...Let's just hope we don't run into any wild animals along the way.

We have animals of our own in this group.

[Not that Iwai has faced any of them himself. He just gave a cursory look around]

I hope you mean that metaphorically.

[Gives a pointed look towards Bennings. Doesn't trust like that, especially after what he told her about the shapeshifting alien.]

Poor kids have been dragged into this mess, too. I don't doubt that the pressure will get to them.

You haven't seen the monkey, the winged horse, the pigeon and like two or three random animals more?

[Half of them being animals that shouldn't exist -- a wyvern? IWai would be much more concerned about all that if there weren't more important things to be worried about]

I dunno. Talked with a couple already and they seem to be able to keep their heads cool. Could be useful.

[Minato and Akira, pretty much. Iwai decided to pretend he doesn't know Akira, even though he'll keep an eye on him]

...I've been trying to ignore the pegasus, but yeah, I've seen the other animals. Just thought you were referring to the people.

[blame my forgetfulness on my sleep deprived brain]

One of them I spoke to seemed ready and willing to help. As long as we can maintain this calm, we should be fine.

Trust me, I'm trying to ignore the weirdest ones.

[If he tries to think about them he'll get nowhere, but they're definitely very weird]

Calm or boasting like a couple of 'em. Met the legendary hero already?

[Ripley rolls her eyes and lets out an exasperated sigh.]

I've heard him, that's for sure. I'm not exactly dying to meet someone that humble.

...Besides, he seems to be doing okay, given the circumstances. I think it's best to just leave him alone for now.

He'll be harmless as long as he doesn't rush headfirst anywhere. Better be ready to knock him out if he gets too reckless, though.

[Kind of kidding, but definitely not about the part of restraining him if he puts everybody in danger]

[Ripley snorts.]

I've dealt with my fair share of bone-headed people. I'm sure he won't be too much of a problem, as long as everyone else keeps their heads.

Dunno. Idiots have a way to drag others with them along.

[Best thing to do is contain the fallout of their actions to something that doesn't inconvenience everyone, hah!]
