Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.
Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.
There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...
Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.
So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.
((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.
This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Trust me, you'd be a lot more useful to everyone if you were alive. Do you know where we are, then?
[Because he did say "this town".]

I'm sorry, but I'm having a hell of a time believing that someone scooped me up from deep space and dropped me off in the goddamn groundhog town.

... Lady I think the cold is already getting to you. What are you, from Florida or something?
no subject
Actually, I'm from Luna. You know, the moon?
no subject
... Yeah I'm leaving now and make sure I never come around this area again.
[Walking faster now.]

[Is this guy a flat-earther or something? Those probably still exist well into the 22nd century.]
If you just walk out there by yourself, you're probably going to die. It's better if we stick together.
[Her voice is firm--but, then again, she doesn't know that Phil is already a lost cause.]

Look I'll be fine! I've lived in this town for years.
no subject
If you've lived here for years, you mind telling us where the hell the nearest hotel might be? [Said in a demanding tone.]

[Yeah, uh, she's starting to be fed up to the point where her exasperation is starting to leak into her words.]
You mind not acting like an asshole, maybe? We've got kids with us--it's stressful enough for them without having the adults going south.
[Literally the only competent adult she's met so far has been Medic, who has been caring for his bird son.]

[He flashes a thumbs up.]
I'm flattered that you thought I was north in the first place.
no subject
[Huffs. Crosses her arms.]
Why are you so sure that we're in Punxsutawney, anyways?

[She throws her hands up in an exasperated gesture.] I've never even been to Pennsylvania before, and it's not like Weyland-Yutani has a base there, so I don't know why the hell I'd be here!

[Said in an incredibly frustrated tone.]
