Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.

((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

relentlesslyonwards: (haha yeah let's just go with that.)

...You really didn't notice the whole time, huh. [He's not sure if he should be concerned or amazed...?!]
messianic: (who doesn't wish)

[personal profile] messianic 2018-11-25 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess my head did feel a little heavy, but... I wasn't sure if that was the circumstances or something else.

[TURNS OUT, IT WAS SNOW.]

Er...thanks for pointing that out.
relentlesslyonwards: (there's the silver lining at least.)

[personal profile] relentlesslyonwards 2018-11-25 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[He shakes his head.]

It was nothing. Besides, when you put it that way, I can kinda see where you're coming from. It's a lot to take in at once.

Still... I'd say that's enough to prove it isn't a dream, right?
messianic: (blue days and fair.)

[personal profile] messianic 2018-11-25 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
You're definitely right about that. I don't remember most dreams being this cold.

[He's still fussing with his hair a little... messy, messy.]

I might still be trying to process all of this, to be honest.
relentlesslyonwards: (there's the silver lining at least.)

[personal profile] relentlesslyonwards 2018-11-27 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Haha. You and me both. [Sure, he's had a decent amount of experience with Weird Shit lately, but that doesn't mean he's ready to be whisked off to the middle of nowhere without a moment's notice.]

I don't really know what you'd have to go through to be prepared for a scenario like this.
messianic: (That is best which is not —)

[personal profile] messianic 2018-11-27 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
... Let's not think about it too hard. That sounds a little too crazy to contemplate.

[Honestly...]

I don't think I'd want to be prepared for surprise kidnappings.
relentlesslyonwards: (or MAYBE we could not do something dumb)

[personal profile] relentlesslyonwards 2018-11-27 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
[Surprise kidnappings, huh. Putting it that way makes it pretty ironic for him, actually.]

I think it's safe to say that's the case for most people. I'd be a little concerned if it were anyone but a VIP we were talking about.

[But here, he takes another look around.]

Although, it really makes you wonder why a group of kidnappers would just dump us all in the snow like this.
messianic: (schedules of sentiment)

[personal profile] messianic 2018-11-27 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[... yeah.]

... To give us some fresh air before they lock us all up?

[Dryly.]

I have no idea. Unless they didn't mean to, or... they couldn't control where we ended up...?
relentlesslyonwards: (time to investigate.)

[personal profile] relentlesslyonwards 2018-11-28 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
[That sounds like some incompetent kidnappers, but more importantly.]

I'm... not sure if that's better or worse, to be honest. If we're actually lost out here without anyone knowing where we are, then that means we can't expect any sort of rescue or shelter anytime soon.

[If they aren't at the mercy of kidnappers, then it's the elements.]
