Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.



((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Ah, well...maybe 'cry' is a bit much.

[Atsushi gets freaked out easily, but crying is one thing he locks away.]

You probably shouldn't just lay down in the snow, though. Your temperature might drop like crazy and then you'll freeze to death!

Sooo... any idea what we should do now? I've never been stuck in the snow like this before.

First we should find the three important needs: food, water, and shelter. Water will be easy enough, if we can find a way to melt the snow- [At least one person here has to be a smoker, right? So they would have a lighter, which can be used to start a fire.] -but the other two will be more difficult.

Ah, but since there is a road here, we should probably follow it and try to find a town. Then we can meet those needs easily.

Whoa, you're like an expert survivalist! [Amazing!]

...There's something that worries me about this place though, but... It might be nothing.

Not an expert, I'm just used to it.

[Yeah.]

But what has you worried?

I see the world as numbers, so usually I can tell a few things about people I meet or areas around me.

But for some reason... the numbers around here keep repeating? Never seen anything like it before.

You....see the world as numbers? Eh?

[That. That's really weird. Cool-sounding, but weird.]

Yeah. If I convert them in my head or using an app, I can make sense out of it.

Like... you're 170cm tall, right?

In flats, yes.

[Don't ask him if he's worn heels.]

Did the numbers tell you that?

But yeah. Things like height or weight or measurements are easy to convert.

...okay, twice. Once to see if I could walk in them, and once as a part of a disguise.

A disguise? [Whoa.] Are you like... some kind of spy?

That...is one way to see it, I guess?

[Because like hell is he about to say 'Sometimes I dress up fancy to infiltrate bars and casinos and mcmurder the targets inside'.]

What's the other way?

[Technically not wrong, if you modify the definition of 'play'.]

When we're not at a risk of freezing in the snow, then sure.
