Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.
Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.
There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...
Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.
So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.
((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.
This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

[It's always cool when people don't give their pets super unoriginal names.]
One of the guys back at the outpost has a husky named Toothpick. [canon is fake and i can name them whatever i want because they have no actual names]
Anyway, what kind of bird is he? Dove?
no subject
[Previous owner = the dude Medic stole his birds from]
Technically speaking, he's a homing pigeon, but dove works too! They're in the same family, and the terms are often interchangeable.

[Medic is really valid for that.
Also, Bennings is finally going to offer Medic his hand for a shake. Accept his gross slimy hand if you wish?]
Thanks for helping me out, by the way.

Of course, my friend! What kind of doctor would I be if I let people just freeze to death while I watched!
[A good one, which he is not, but still.]

You know, that sense of humor you've got there kind of reminds me of someone I know back at the outpost.
[He shakes Medic's hand firmly a few times and then lets go.]
Also, I feel liks I should actually introduce myself to you. My name's Bennings. George Bennings. You?
no subject
[It's honestly been so long since anyone aside from Heavy and Spy
and satanreferred to him as Ludwig, that "Medic" feels more like his name, sometimes.]no subject
Medic? Are you in the military then?
no subject
... I guess that's technically most wars, isn't it?
no subject
I've never actually seen any sort of combat myself outside of getting shot in the leg two days ago. [He says, still covered in blood and goo.]
no subject
[That may have been a big mistake to mention to Medic. He glances down at Bennings' leg, curious.]
I take it you're still injured? ... May I see?
no subject
[He shrugs.]
I don't mind if you look, it's stitched up now.
no subject
[Ah, well. Probably not important. He kneels down to get a better look at the leg.]
no subject
[It's a shame Garry ended up killing the one guy with a headshot.]
And we didn't find out until it was too late.

But really, the dog was only one part of it. The other part... well, I'm not sure you'd believe me, Doc.

Try me, my friend. I'm rather used to things that should be impossible.
[He can bring dead people back to life and fights a giant eyeball summoned by a wizard every Halloween]

There was another thing that our helicopter pilot found when he went to the Norwegian outpost. Not a dog, it was something else entirely. Looked like it was two guys fused together.
We thought it was dead.
