Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.



((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Looks like all of us got that in common. That's honestly pretty suspicious, if you ask me.

Yeah, I agree— way too suspicious. Not to mention it wasn't even winter the last I remember either.

[dereban]

Same here. It was like... getting close to winter, but like. I remember being in fall.

[delusive]

Yeah— it was the same for me.

Not to mention I was literally driving in my car not too long ago and suddenly it's gone too.

[dereban]

I guess they were fine with smaller vehicles, [ gestures at Snake's snowmobile up ahead ] but not a car? Okay.

[delusive]

[katherine glances in the direction towards snake's snowmobile as she frowns at that] Yeah, it seems that way.

[dereban]

Kind of makes you think that our kidnappers are a bit. [ A beat. ] Strange.

[delusive]

Yeah, that's an understatement.

There has to be more to this, we just have to figure it out.

[dereban]

It sure is.

[ Understatement of the year, honestly. ] I think so, too, but I'd doubt we'd find anything here.

[ in a forest ]

[delusive]

Yeah, I agree— we need to try and find shelter from this weather first before it gets too dark.

[dereban]

Or worse.

I've never been in a snowstorm, but I'm really not itching to find out.

[delusive]

Yeah— I definitely don't want to find out either.

[katherine glances up ahead before glancing towards the other girl again] Seems like this road up ahead is the only way to go to wherever that leads.

[dereban]

Looks like it.

[ She does peer over her shoulder, just a little curious. ] A part of me wonders what would happen going to other way, but...

[ Instincts say that it's bad and while she wants to fight those instincts, staying with the rest of the group is probably for the best. ]

[delusive]

It's probably best not to risk it— easier to stay with the group since they're all headed that way too.

[oh yeah. she should probably introduce herself, right...] My name is Katherine, by the way.

[dereban]

I agree with you there, at least. Don't know what'll happen if we wind up getting somehow separated.

[ Nevertheless she does nod politely, introducing herself as well. ] I'm Inaba. Inaba Himeko.

[delusive]

Yeah, definitely. It's safer this way too at least.

[she nods at that, smiling slightly] It's nice to meet you Inaba— despite our current circumstances anyway.

[dereban]

Yeah, same here, I guess...

[ She says the words a little sheepishly with some light laughter. ]

Hopefully our circumstances manage to get better, though.

[delusive]

[katherine can't help but laugh slightly as well] Yeah, hopefully— I'm sure we'll figure something out.
