You may be onto something. In fact, I don't doubt that it believes what it is doing isn't truly 'bad'; such things as 'good or evil' may as well be considered simply a... 'construct'.

To a so-called supreme existence that sees itself as beyond a god or goddess, the lives of those under it are inconsequential. They are merely...things that exist and beings that can have things done to them. Not unlike ants; would you say that crushing an ant would be something anyone would normally consider as 'bad'? Of course not. Even if it's purposeful, it's not like it made much of a difference or was truly considered an evil.

In the end...it's not just us it's inconvenienced however. Even though we all clearly remember how much pain a certain someone was in when it acted against him. And the other evidence would be how this place has ended up.

I won't stop you from trying to sweet talk it, no matter how idiotic that may be, but I can tell you it's an absolute waste of time. I'll gladly see it to its end for the insult it has wrought, no matter what.

No one's sweet talking anything! Or just ignoring what happened to Dazai. Just... something Solomon said to me made me think. It might see the situation it's put us in as 'bad'. But it might think it's giving us something to do.

In becoming the villain that organizes these trials, it's giving us the chance to "make friends along the way," or some such thing.

...It's not doing any of this or anything for either of our sakes, either. If anything, it simply sees whatever we're doing as an amusing struggle.

Any 'chances' we've been afforded to make the best of the situation, including 'making friends' for the fools so inclined, haven't been 'given' to us by this thing.
