Does that mean they had to change into these clothes before they killed? Or they took off what they were wearing and hid it with the rest of the clothes to disguise it?

[Though tbh this is a lot of work solving a case when the entity's the one behind it. And the entity's just another puppet to act as a villain/source of conflict.
