Monday comes onto the snowy town once more, though it still looks as if it's 'night' as ever.

Then again, you are underground. That's just to be expected, considering no natural light can get down here in the first place. The Monsters around you are just as friendly as ever, though now there's far, far less of them.

Is time running out for the mission? How many more loops do you have?

...You feel as if something is watching you when you're not looking.

THE BACK ROOM

[As they head into the back, they'll suddenly see an area that has six containers standing upright, as if they once contained something inside of them - the glass glimmering with a faint, rainbow glow.

Along the sides of the room are coffins, three on the left and right- white, each with a different colored heart on them. And directly in front, down a long corridor...is the faint glimmer of Solomon's barrier obscuring the exit he made when he had finished hollowing out the mountain.

There are a few papers on a nearby table, looking yellowed and old.]

... welp. Coffins with colored hearts. Not creepy at all!

[He heads towards those]

Six coffins, and six containers...

[Wow she hates this, but also, she's going to take a closer look at those containers. Is the glass itself glowing, or does there seem to be something else giving off that light?]

[ he will glance at the barrier and sigh. however he keeps his expression trained and will go for the papers ]

[The Coffins are...Coffins. However, they all share a certain characteristic - all of them are the colors they have in their SOULs, and if opened....they all have what looks like a very old child skeleton inside.

The containers, on the other hand, definitely seem like the glass itself is faintly colored - clear normally, then a gentle rainbow, like the colors on a bubble when shifted in the right light. There's nothing inside of them now, though.

The papers....There's a lot, and they're all out of order. Luckily, sorting through them by date is possible, but it'll take a second.]

[ well, you know what, he's not the one dealing with the child corpses so sure, he'll take the time to organize this by date. how far back does it go? ]

[It goes back pretty far. Over 500 years, to be exact. However, all of it is in ancient monsterese - in a dialect Solomon can understand, this time.]

Today we got the first human SOUL. The King and [] had a fight, with the [] returning to the Ruins in anger. [] did not approve of the King's decision to gather seven human souls and break the barrier.

Thankfully, it seems that human SOULs take a while to vanish in the underground, so we were able to place it within a container made of that one ore we keep finding as we slowly expand, which is acting as a low-level light source when needed.

...he can't help but feel glad that this never came to, and that only makes him feel worse.

[The next couple of pages are generally the same - notes on when they get a human SOUL, placing them in the containers.]

Something of interest is that there is no trace of the 'moose' that was said to be nearby whenever human SOULs popped out of their bodies. Perhaps the barrier stops it from coming Underground, or delays it.

The King is sadder these days. He has a very heavy burden on his shoulders, and one I would not want to take on. I can only hope that we get the SOULs quickly, before this takes too heavy a toll on him.

We have also interred the Human remains into coffins, with a depiction of their SOUL on the lid for each one. The King assures us this is what humans do with their remains.

[ well, he imagined that killing children would not be something that asgore would be too fond of.

and that also explains why he hasn't sensed azrael around.

[He's not going to like the final pages.

As it goes on, the writer's excitement raises as they finally get all 6 souls.]

There is a rumor that the final human has fallen down into the Underground - finally, we may be able to see the Surface for the first time in thousands of years.

[Then, there's a long gap...and the final page is-]

The King is gone.

He gave his SOUL over to the Human, and they left the barrier.

The previous fight ended up releasing the human SOULs, and before I could get them back into the container...that moose appeared.

The SOULs are gone.

Our hopes are gone.

My hope is gone.

We have... bodies. B... Boss... do you think we could... put these to rest more properly, later?

[He' really upset by this???? These are tiny kids??? Like the kids he knew in Camp...]

[ solomon turns around, not really...moved by seeing the bones. at most, he's a little sad, but there's nothing that can be done for them. ]

We can try. But moving bones might not be the smartest idea, depending on how old they are.

[He nods sadly... then remembering the few funerals he's been to (many years ago, as a child) he digs through his pocket and puts three gp in each coffin]

They could not have gone out to hunt them. My barrier would have stopped them from that.

But that does not stop a human from coming here on accident.

They're meant to keep the souls in, I believe.

The question is how old are they?
