[CONTINUE + 4] INTRO

[After so long a trip, you're all finally here. Taken through a hidden passage inside of the very mountain itself, you find yourself standing in front of a field of flowers, growing well due to the open roof above it. If you look up, you can just make out the shimmering colors off of the barrier - looking almost like the shine off of a soap bubble.
Try not to trample on the flowers as you approach the open, purple gate. And remember to wear your masks, now that you're here!
...Still, the sight of the yellow flowers waving in the wind....such a cheery sight fills you with determination for what's to come.
Welcome to the Underground.
...Again. The loop happened again, and you're here. Everything is the same.
Someone who was dead is alive again.
The trial...it was...you remember only up until Gilgamesh was FOUGHT against, and then...nothing.
You feel you shouldn't try to remember anything beyond that.
Not only that, But more monster names have faded from your memory.
...When will this end?]

I do have a guess:
Desperation. Especially given the lengths it went to in the first place to make it happen.
So far it's been acting so smarmy and overconfident, as if it truly wasn't all that much of a difference in the end, but undeniably it hasn't netted a single gain for any other SOUL since the beginning of these absurd trials.

Well, obviously to keep it safe. But that's simply because he, for all intents and purposes, is currently an ally.
If I were an enemy, there'd be a different reason, though it wouldn't be the same as the guess I just proposed a moment ago.

It could be akin to taking someone prisoner if I thought they would be of some value as that. In absence of a normal place to put them, the vault could suffice; even if imprisoning someone in there isn't an action I would normally entertain doing.
...We can pretend that it's 'acting' as a dungeon in this instance, however. My intentions in that situation may be to exact a befitting punishment on my prisoner after I've 'released' them from their imprisonment, to my amusement.
[ And deriving entertainment in their 'suffering', which he supposed would be the act of tossing Yoshi into the CORE. It's the kind of thought process of when he ruled as a tyrant, though given that the current form he was in now...well, it's not an unfamiliar one. ]

...That seems like a likely part of its plan.
Instead of only obtaining one, it could gain two in the event of its success. Especially given how easy it'd be to toss a SOUL straight into the CORE using the versatility of my treasury.
[ As in, if Ren hadn't engaged him in a FIGHT, he could've expelled Yoshi's SOUL towards the CORE at any range with the Gate of Babylon and then he supposed...he'd have followed suit. ]
