[CONTINUE + 2] week 1 || act: indict

[Saturday dawns, bright and early again - and Undyne comes to the inn, flanked by the Royal Guard...all of the Dogs in the area, in their armor or uniforms.

You all only have enough time to get ready - wash yourselves, put on your masks and clothing - before you're ushered out, guarded so heavily that it's clear they expect trouble. Monsters on the way watch you warily, whispering and looking shocked.

It's clear they no longer have such kind thoughts of you, after what happened.

You're all lead out past Snowdin and Waterfall, into an area that's hot, and the glow of subterranian lava lights the area. Then, past a large hotel...into an area that looks metallic, where some kind of whitish, rainbow-gleaming liquid can be seen below.

You know where this is.

In this area, you are led to a wider platform that is still open to the liquid before, with the handrails in place - where there are some seats around, and a familiar face waiting to speak with you.

This...for all of you, it is a familiar sight.

It is a trial location.

You are here to find the killer...and convict one of your own, in a murder that makes no sense.

But you have no choice.

You can only forge ahead....and try to find out the truth.]

[... no. dislike.]

When you say "odd" footprints...?

The other set looks to be made with Moon shoes

[He shows a comparison picture]

I found the shoes in the Tree, it was high enough I didn't need to bend over to get it, and it looked like it was tossed in.

Hiding height and size that way, huh... clever...

Yes. I admit until I found the moon shoes, I was thinking we were going to look for snowshoes.

The killer's tracks didn't change pace at all - the same calm stride the entire time

That matches with the 'culprit' from before too- they don't care. They're not afraid of being caught in the act, just making it so we run around like idiots after the fact.

This is fun for them.

No, the entity possessing them is having fun.

Like as if they were chatting?

That seems quite likely.

The question would be whether our culprit was already possessed when they began walking? If the map is anything to go by, that seems to be the case.

But then why was no one alerted?

Either the possessor is a great actor or it only acted when they arrived at Temmie village.

I do wonder, those Moon Shoes are rather strange footwear, and would elevate a person's height by several inches, something that'd be rather noticeable - wouldn't Wei Wuxian find it strange?

Depends on the individual.

He likes to indulge frivolous personalities.

Agreed. If he found it funny it's likely that he would have played along with it. But I also don't believe that Wei Wuxian wouldn't have noticed that he was with someone that...wasn't in their right mind, so to say. Even if he likes to play silly sometimes, he's far from that.

Again, depending on the person... and the fact that he kept even with them suggests it is someone he at least is on very good conversational terms with... he may have been making an attempt to lead them away in the hopes of subduing them.

Which suggests it might be someone who is not physically as strong as he is, but...

[shrugs a bit]

There's also something a little odd... they're tall enough and have springs inside them, so walking in them would be rather awkward.

Either we have someone with a very good sense of balance or...

... I'm a little annoyed by how clever this thing is getting. Is it because of the people it possesses or...?

[is it learning?]
