Monday comes onto the snowy town once more, though it still looks as if it's 'night' as ever.

Then again, you are underground. That's just to be expected, considering no natural light can get down here in the first place. The Monsters around you are just as friendly as ever, despite this being your second 'time' trying this monday.

...Though....are there a few less Monsters here than there were before? ...Nah. You must be imagining it.

You still have a mission - and after the events of the last trial, you want to do your best to stop whatever is causing this.

But, hey. You really do have nothing but time now to figure it out.

[ his shoulders slump a bit, his expression softer than it was just a few minutes ago. and when ren brings up apologizing...well, solomon shakes his head. ]

And apologizing is not necessary either. You wanted the best for the group, right? Even if it meant sacrificing yourself.

It was impulsive- what if we decided to go with it? What if someone had to tell Nine that his husband deleted himself... it was stupid and I didn't think of your feelings either.

I don't think Dazai's logic was unsound but... not like this.

I understand. I understand the reasoning behind Dazai's request but that is exactly why I could not go through with it. Even if it were you or Mo, or anyone else, I could not ask anyone to lay their lives down for me. Not when you have all suffered so much already.

[ even though he's keeping his voice down (it is a library, after all), there is a lot of barely repressed emotion in solomon's voice. ]

I want to believe that we can come up with an alternative solution. Because something like that... I don't want to accept it.

... there are just some things a man can't accept. I understand. I won't ask it again.

But, you know... and Daizai-san said this too when I talked with him- you know, we're not just doing this because we have to as agents. We've made lives here. We're here because we CHOOSE to be here. This might not be our homelands but for a lot of us, it's our home. So don't think you're some all-powerful Shepard leading the sheep to their deaths.

I suppose that what I believe my expectations are might be different than what they really are, huh? [ he laughs softly. ] But, then again, every person is their own worst critic, right?
