Monday comes onto the snowy town once more, though it still looks as if it's 'night' as ever.

Then again, you are underground. That's just to be expected, considering no natural light can get down here in the first place. The Monsters around you are just as friendly as ever, despite this being your second 'time' trying this monday.

...Though....are there a few less Monsters here than there were before? ...Nah. You must be imagining it.

You still have a mission - and after the events of the last trial, you want to do your best to stop whatever is causing this.

But, hey. You really do have nothing but time now to figure it out.

I'm not completely confident in the suggestion, but trying something is better than nothing - I do know from Miss Clarke the murder was between 1am and 2am.

Assuming this doesn't go the same way the house did and we're prevented from seeing a murder in progress.

So, it's all fine and good to try for prevention but if the odds are stacked against us as they were all the times before, then prevention will do very little.

In which case, we need to think about the trials.

Before, I said that it was wisest to follow the evidence wherever it may lead. However, considering circumstances and the likelihood that it is not just the name of a person erased... and the fact that we're experiencing timeloops... this could mean that the effects of an erased person will be far more reaching than we have been considering.

Which is why anyone who has had a hand in creating the place we're currently standing in needs to not be thrown into that pit.

More importantly, we need to determine how far we're willing to push at the monsters' suspension of disbelief. If the evidence is overwhelming, we'd have to resort to outright lies.

The person has to volunteer for it, too.

I refuse to throw someone under the bus and they just wind up not wanting to do it.

I cannot allow myself to watch from a distance. And, aside from that, what if by singling me out, our culprit decides to choose me as the victim? If you're all gathered in one place, then that would make it simple for a possessed me to kill without a second thought!

[ he'll pull out his knife, setting it on the table. ]

As callous as it is to say, I'd rather you be murdered than the culprit.

There's at least a stronger chance of recovering you if you're killed--unless they're hunting for a specific color.

However, your souls are different than mine...although I'm not sure if Azrael could even pick up my soul in the case of my death, so perhaps it doesn't make a difference in this place, so long as I do not get thrown over like that man.

That is the part I'm most concerned about, yes.

If you happen to be the culprit... we may have to resort to other measures to both appease the monsters and prevent you from falling into that pit.

So whatever happens, we have to figure out how to keep someone from getting thrown down that...

That would be far more productive, in my opinion, yes.

But it may involve going against the monsters...

It would be best if we can convince them not to hold the trial here in the first place, but I do not believe we would have a convincing argument yet...

We do have to take the risk with interfering whenever that thing acts to throw them over...

Only those who volunteer to disrupt that kind of action should move to stop it. There's too high of a risk of others falling in and the same fate awaiting them.

That sounds almost as if you're suggesting we might all get possessed at night just for the sake of not being able to see the murders.
