[CONTINUE] Week 1 || Act: mingle

Monday comes onto the snowy town once more, though it still looks as if it's 'night' as ever.

Then again, you are underground. That's just to be expected, considering no natural light can get down here in the first place. The Monsters around you are just as friendly as ever, despite this being your second 'time' trying this monday.

...Though....are there a few less Monsters here than there were before? ...Nah. You must be imagining it.

You still have a mission - and after the events of the last trial, you want to do your best to stop whatever is causing this.

But, hey. You really do have nothing but time now to figure it out.

I'll hold you to that.

I brought up during the meeting the major things that happened. If there's any other differences... [She pauses, and then in Japanese-] I'll bring those up in the next meeting.

But I've been keeping track of everything in here.

[She takes out her notebook, keeping it closed as she taps at it.]

[right, the meeting. thinks back on that for a moment, recalling what was or wasn't said...]

Was the item that was talked about before likely the thing he gave over during the trial? I know Hitoka's been going to the garbage dump--there's apparently a ghost in a dummy there she's been making friends with, but I'm not sure if that's related or not.

I think so.

But a ghost...? Actually, no, I'm not surprised that they can do that. I don't think it's related, though.

[well, that's a relief. maybe.]

Likely not.

But one thing that's been bothering me this whole time... in the library, Gilgamesh found those books that said those things about human SOULS, right? Our SOULS are a bit different but they're still pretty human... and in that case, and probably for other reasons, very powerful?

So why then... did this thing possess that man and kill you but didn't take your SOUL?

[Maybe!]

...

[She can't entirely hide the frown that shows when Dazai talks about their SOULs, specifically.

Her gaze shifts away as she speaks up, low.]

I don't know.

There would have been plenty of time to take it, wouldn't there? I don't understand why. Maybe it has something to do with the color... which means only one of two things: they didn't need a blue SOUL to begin with, or -

[She closes her eyes, mulling it over in her mind.]

- no, I shouldn't say it without any proof. It isn't very likely, anyway.

Are you thinking "my SOUL wasn't blue enough"?

Because the other option is that if it didn't have to do with colors at all. If it had to do with SOULS from this world, not SOULS belonging to SCP 6350s.

[personal profile] dereban 2020-08-20 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
[She shakes her head.]

I was thinking that maybe they already had a blue SOUL. That's why I said it wasn't likely.

Besides, do you even think that the monsters in the Underground even know about 6350?

It's not the monsters in the Underground who worry me...

[but he's quiet for a moment, thinking... and his hand twitches toward himself, his chest, before stopping and dropping to his lap again.]

... you're right in saying speculation without enough evidence isn't any good, then.

Honestly - for the most part, I agree.

Unless some sort of monster that we see in Hotland or anywhere past there changes that.

[Her voice is obviously quiet with a sigh.]

We'll just have to see where things go...

... no matter how they do go, I was certainly wrong about one thing in particular during the trial.

We can't afford to let Solomon be convicted, if he's ever possessed or made to kill.

[another pause, but this time like a lightbulb's gone off.]

Thinking of it that way, though... wouldn't having Solomon meet the same fate mean that the reasons for the Underground existing at all would be erased? Potentially?
dereban: ([m] 26)

[personal profile] dereban 2020-08-20 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Because he's a native, right?

That worries me. If someone was possessed once, wouldn't they be more susceptible to it...? I'm worried it might stick to them like glue, even through loops. That might be dangerous.

But - in that case: do you have someone in mind that you'd like to scapegoat? You're not allowed to offer yourself up, otherwise I'm tattling.

[She gets the reasoning, but also it's bad!]

That would change a fuckton of history. But even though we might not remember that man's name, we still know what he did. I still remember...

[...]

But if Solomon's existence is erased, that changes a lot. Would 6350 have been found at all? What would it change about the Winchester mission? And about any of our missions?

That would change too much.
cw_suicide: (498)

[personal profile] cw_suicide 2020-08-20 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly.

And we don't know if it's just the names--each loop might have us forget more and more. We also don't know if this may be something that has the ability to rewrite time to account for his missing existence, given enough time. Things stayed as they were even though we all were forgotten in the Winchester house, but this is completely different--there weren't time loops then.

And as for scapegoats...

[you're really rude! don't be a tattle!

but definitely the question is hitting more on the mafia angle than the detective on, because he's giving this a lot of thought..]

... if they're wanting purple, we may have limited options. It might have to be something we have to ask for volunteers for, initially, but paranoia and dissent will come from people who have something to exist for. That's when it'll get a bit uglier.

Because we would be asking people to risk being erased from existence.
dereban: (pic#14190109)

[personal profile] dereban 2020-08-20 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah.

We don't know how much is going to be 'erased' as each loops moves forward. After all, the place we've been using for the meetings is still the same... and I'm completely expecting us to start losing more than just names.

That is if they're wanting purple.

You should already know by now that I won't sacrifice Atsushi. I doubt he'd want to though, given that he cares too much about living.

[But he's also...

Well.]

I feel like out of all of them, Clarke or Chuuta might be the ones who might potentially volunteer, but I'm also saying this as someone who doesn't know them as well. That's probably something to bring up with Ren, since he's closer to them.

However, if color doesn't matter, then...

[is he gonna have to put a leash on certain idiots? probably]

... something we'll have to consider in the next meeting, anyway...

We may luck out and Solomon won't be implicated.

[personal profile] dereban 2020-08-20 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
Fingers crossed.

I'll just... hope for the best.
