I get it though- I know... I've been lucky that I haven't lost anyone under my order yet. Not though lack of bad choices, trust me, just luck. But... still, I think it's good to have both.

Don't misunderstand. Losing people under one's command is one thing, but some of us even started out with caring less before growing to care more about those individual lives.

That's why we can be a bit more cynical about people's motives and intentions. But that's also why we need your type around whose initial response is to want to believe in others.

There was a severe lack of that in the Winchester house. And a number of those types got killed very early on.
