If anything, the town is gentle, the people kind....and nothing seems wrong. There's no danger.

[The river flows, peacefully and as ice cold as always.]

[ Just gonna... sit down. Stare at the river. Try not to think about the whole dead friend situation. Just watch the river. Yeah.

Anything immediately interesting going on? Or is it just rolling along? ]

[Well, there are the footprints that aren't his leading there, which have some bloodstains in them leading towards the river itself.]

[ Oh boy. Giovanni heaves himself up with a sigh, following the trail of bloody footprints. Do they reach the river, and if so, what happens to them then? ]

[They do! The footprints reach the river, then walk away from it.

The footprints walking away seem to have ice in them, and there's a few ice droplets at the side.

Maybe the killer washed off.]

[ Makes sense. Giovanni figures that's what he'd do, if he got blood on his boots. Where are they headed after that? ]

[It looks like they were headed back to the main area, towards the inn and the exit to the ruins, but due to all the commotion...their footprints vanish into a bunch of trampled snow.

Turns out Monsters aren't great at pristinely conserving crime scenes.]

Well, that's just great.

[ Giovanni kneels down to examine one of the more intact footprints, prior to the trampling. What's the approximate size and shape? Human foot? Monster foot? ]

[It's a human footprint, definitely with shoes, looking like they're sized to be someone who's 5’6” to 5’7”.]

[ Snapping a picture or two! Okay, these newfangled smartphones are good for some stuff after all, he guesses.

Anything else seem off about the river area, or should he resume his sulk? ]
