Monday comes onto the snowy town, though it still looks as if it's 'night' as ever.

Then again, you are underground. That's just to be expected, considering no natural light can get down here in the first place. The Monsters around you are just as friendly as ever, and there's so much to explore.

But, there is also that ever-looming threat. Still, it doesn't seem like anyone here could do such a thing as summon something to eat this world....right?

Well. You still have time to figure it out.

...In fact, you'll have nothing but time.

And so far your efforts have bore little fruit?

[ Since he saw and felt nothing in particular happening other than the usual. ]

I've little interest in associating myself with those unworthy to be within my presence. Doing so would merely test my patience.

Haven't found a spot with enough resentful energy. I wonder if the war happened just outside of the mountain then.

[ Also the whole... monsters don't actually leave corpses. ]

It must be hard being such an amazing King.

There's doubtlessly many more places to explore in the mountain that could have lingering resentful energy. It'd be best if you'd just kept looking.

There was a sudden pause, as if he was ascertaining the intent behind Wei's words for his other comment. He didn't like it, though it wasn't really an issue of being offended. But, all the same, he's not sure whether he could wholly blame him; he knew he was difficult and he had elucidated as much to Ky so long ago.

So it wasn't like he hadn't received a placating comment before. Therefore he'll hold his tongue, though his lips had curled downward as he cast his gaze upon the ruins, expression somewhere closer to pensive than sulky. ]

Difficulty is not an unusual concept to any monarch worth their title. I'm sure you understand this well, don't you?

This place is pretty big. There should be something I could use.

[ Where are you bodies ]

Who me? I don't think I could ever understand. I don't come close to your status and I'm something of a social butterfly.

[ Is he really? He doesn't seem to be implying anything from his tone. It remains the usual as he starts to kneel down to poke at the ground to test it out. ]

Of course you don't. Hmph, then I suppose it's only natural you'd make such a comment.

[ Either way, it's gotten him to settle somewhat, though now he's curious about something else which he'll file away for later. ]

There are many who don't know their place. For better or worse.

...That aside, have you tried looking around in that field or have you simply started with these ruins first?

[ He'll let that conversation drop, and focus on body finding. ]

Starting here. I figured with so many ruins here, then there has to be something buried. I don't even feel any trace of it though. They must be doing something to keep spirits from lingering.

Well... you know, normal spirits.

[ And not the skeleton or ghost monsters ]

It's never the obvious answer. Or in this case, place, as they say.

[ It figures this area under the mountain would work under the same principle. ]

If that's the case, then maybe there's bodies and spirits in the center instead?

[ Since it's the last place they can look. ]

It's possible, given that the center of a place has proven to be key before.

[ And if it's the last place they could look, there was a higher likelihood of that being so. But then again, monster-land and their weirdness, so things were still iffy. ]

Looks like I'll just have to be patient until we get there, huh?

[ Standing up and brushing off his pants. ]

What do you make of this place so far? It seems pretty peaceful.

Clearly.

[ Gilgamesh was not a patient man, but Wei seemed like the type of person who'd be able to wait until the world ends-

Oh wait. ]

...'Seems' is the keyword here. We've also only breached a portion of this entire underground area. Soon we will see that peace end and when it does, neither of us should be surprised, given what we're up against. If any mongrel in our group lowers their guard for a moment, they may as well be asking for death to come upon them for their foolishness.

[ Reasons for Gilgamesh to remain mostly tense and moody, among other things. ]

[ He used to be like that, but sometimes you go through hell and then give a second chance to learn some patience. ]

I'm sure lowering their guard is the last thing on their minds. They all have been through similar events such as we have. [ It seems... too common for his liking. ]

[ ...He had at least .25% of patience there due to everything that he's gone through but Wei and so many people would still have him beaten in that department it's not even funny. ]

Unfortunately they have.

[ They felt the same on that, likely enough. Though... ]

Are you one of those who believes this will all work out nicely through the power of friendship and love and whatnot?

[ It's a mood ]

Hardly, especially since friendship didn't really win us any favors the last time. [ Or any time... ] I do believe it is beneficial to get to know the monsters that live down here and play nice for as long as we're able, but I am assuming that the danger will find us.

[sageking]

[ Such a mood.

Though, at the other's words here, his expression seemed to settle into something more pensive and calm. ]

I suppose there is some merit in playing nice with them. It would be unwise to damage our relations with these creatures before being able to gain more information.

[ Though, it's been twenty years since- well, whatever. He could do diplomacy, even if his arrogance will seep through. ]

Perhaps it is for that reason it is good that there are those well-suited to fostering friendly relations amongst our group.

It certainly will help ease whatever tensions that may arrive. We are monsters of the surface after all. There is bound to be some issues in that alone.

[ Where they are from may be enough for misunderstandings or fear.

Gil's arrogance is just part of his charm. ]

Perhaps, given how mongrels seem so eager to treat others adversely who differ enough from them. It truly wouldn't be all that surprising if these creatures were the same.

[ It's amusing, to an extent, he mused. On one hand, Gilgamesh couldn't understand how readily some of these people would make merry with those they don't know or towards their enemy (he knew of past events, after all.) But on another, in certain situations like this, it'd be an asset.

Though he'd never broadcast that he thought as much to everyone. Why should he? That's unnecessary. ]

That seems to be true of all worlds, hmm?

[ It's interesting. Maybe there is a place some where that isn't like that... but he has yet to see evidence of it. ]

Naturally. Anywhere that should not have it would be considered truly an anomaly.
