FINAL CONFRONTATION.

The Winchester House looms before you, the barrier that kept everything in - the time stop that Dog placed over the area - now thin as a single pane of transparent glass, Solomon still clearly outside the house frozen in the same position he was on the tapes.

The minutes tick by - and the barrier slowly gets thinner and thinner, close to falling.

You have seen everything - the events of the past. You have also come up with your own ideas of what to do from here - how to save your fellow 6350's lost to the curse, and defeat the Curse itself.

There is no one left alive in the house.

But, at the end of all of this...

There will be a wrong righted.

[ Gilgamesh will chuckle at the excuse he gave him. Sorry not sorry. ]

You should be. Though I can easily imagine the looks on those other mongrels' faces if you've disclosed such a thing to them as well.

[ His words were said so casually, in a tone that sounded as if he were telling a joke or teasing. ]

That said, in regards to your skill, if you find the Foundation lacking, I'm sure there'll be others who'd be able to use it better.

I'm not sure if any of them would be surprised at this point.

[Considering he did do a murder and then proceeded to shoot an unarmed person in the face in the proceeding trial, which is probably not what a police officer should do, oops. But leaving that aside, that last bit is certainly interesting. It's true that the Foundation ultimately got them into this mess, so his feelings toward them are pretty bitter especially considering there was actually a higher up in their midst that did nothing but watch them die for weeks. And as such, he can't keep the interest out of his voice when he speaks up again.]

...You know people who are hiring or something?

There would likely be a few, possibly from the couple of goody-two shoes.

[ And those who'd think that Date's radical actions in the murder had to do with the motive spelling the death of everyone if no one did act in the first place, along with the effect of the miasma. Really, there were countless scenarios where he could see such surprise taking root.

But at the question, he just smirked. ]

It's not a matter of knowing 'people' when I am, is it?

[I would have said that he gets a thoughtful expression here but then I realized he's probably still stuck in one of those golems goddamn. So he'll let out a bit of a thoughtful hm instead.]

I guess we'll see.

[Either way, new employment that's not shitty is definitely a more appealing topic right now!! Even if the skepticism is clearly audible.]

Wait, you? What are even hiring for?

[ Such was Date's life. Honestly, to have such a serious discussion with someone still stuck in an expressionless golem was kind of amusing, since the person was Date, but...ah well. ]

In a world like this, there would be many things that'd require looking into—including that which is beyond. Having a detective's perspective could be useful, even if naturally my own would reign supreme.

...But, I'll speak to you about those details later and somewhere more privately. You'll know when it's time, as I'll come for you myself. And then you can make your decision when I've briefed you at that moment, or perhaps some other time.

In the meanwhile, we'll see how the Foundation will prove to be a disappointment before then.

[It's true, it being Date always makes things funnier...

It's also sad though because otherwise he can't really give Gil a flat look and have it be noticed!! Still, for all that bluster and arrogance, Date did have to acknowledge that it was more than just talk and Gil also showed his competence in that situation, which was more than someone could say about the Foundation.]

You really know how to drive a hard bargain, don't you. [That line is said sarcastically, but the next is not.] But alright, I don't mind hearing you out. If nothing else, we can at least agree on how we see the Foundation and their way of doing things.

But of course.

[ He looked particularly smug nonetheless, seeming confident in ... something at least. Probably the result or his own ego or both. ]

I know we'll be able to see eye to eye, mongrel or not. The Foundation will have a lot to answer for with its incompetence, after all.

[ Then, he'll give the man a parting smirk (for now), before turning his attention to their new company (who will appear in the new post) and making his way over to two certain someones. ]
