Week 7: Fast Forward to 2020

It is done.

The last tape has played. All of the information that can be found from them has been discovered. They are free to re-watch the tapes, but nothing new can be found there.

The barrier will fail next Saturday. This is unavoidable. The barrier set by Tages will finally fall, and the curse will be free once more.

The only question is, what will those left alive in 2020 do to prepare?

[ Ah, fuck. She was playing Pocket Camp, so the chirps of Animal Crossing music can be heard for a few awkward seconds before she presses the button to put her phone in sleep mode. ]

What, um...what would you like to chat about?

[ She's remembering that night on the street before the war really started, when she saw Rin watching her talk to him on the hill, and she went home and felt sick for the rest of the night. Funny, all of her memories of Gilgamesh put a sense of primal fright into her. ]

And saw her whispering with Syaoran...technically he could've demanded the words be said aloud, but he'd prefer to do it this way. ]

You appear to have some major issue with me. What is it?

[ They're about to go on a mission together. Time to clear the air, and nip a potential problem in the bud. ]

[ She had a guess that this wasn't the "same" version of Gil that was in Fuyuki--since when did he know magic, anyway? But this pretty much confirms it. The way he's phrasing things, the way he's addressing her. ]

...you've never met me before, have you? I thought--no, I was, um, I was mistaken.

[ That sure saves her a lot of grief, but she still feels uneasy. ]

...Hmph.

[ Well, anyway. It looked like just by addressing her properly things were somewhat more cleaned up. ]

You'd be right in that. If I had met you before, I'd have at least deigned to do more than just glance in your direction upon experiencing that reaction you gave.

[ That scream was pretty impressive. Not in a good way, but. ]
