Week 7: Fast Forward to 2020

It is done.

The last tape has played. All of the information that can be found from them has been discovered. They are free to re-watch the tapes, but nothing new can be found there.

The barrier will fail next Saturday. This is unavoidable. The barrier set by Tages will finally fall, and the curse will be free once more.

The only question is, what will those left alive in 2020 do to prepare?

Such is the nature of these situations, it seems. At least we've a larger pool of resources to gather from compared to what dismal ones that were had while I, along with those other mongrels, were trapped in that accursed house.

[ He glanced down at some of the maps and whipped out a pen. He found the list doable for now, but as for the maps... ]

Let me add to your sorry excuse of your maps so far. Naturally, I'd have more to offer, having seen the rooms firsthand. Even if you've witnessed much from those tapes.

I would appreciate that.

[He reaches to grab his tea, blanching once he finally takes a sip of it, setting it aside before pushing over a legal notepad and pencil]

A first-hand account will do more to fill in the gaps.

You should replace that obviously bland 'tea' of yours with something that had better taste.

[ Like some alcohol. Of course not too much, but a little won't hurt, right?

He won't take the pencil, already having his superb golden pen, but he'll nab the legal notepad, beginning to add to the map collection. ]

It would have been better if I hadn't let it go cold. I never understood why Americans enjoy it like that...

[Alcohol is for later. He rests his chin on his hand, watching as Gilgamesh sketches it out]

There's hardly any warm drink that would taste good when it's cold.

[ He caught the murmur, though, and agreed on account of his own stated comment. He'll write some uh...pretty rude notes on here, something like 'don't be an imbecile and forget there may be traps', but they're brief at least. ]

That much is true. There is one unknown that I do not care for - the fact you witness Seteth's spirit being dragged below.

[He points to where it had taken place]

We hadn't gotten quite an adequate answer for it, only speculation.

[ ...Ah. He remembered that.

What a nice (not) memory. ]

We'd originally thought the weakpoint and source of the curse was located in that room hidden behind bricks...

[ His frown deepened as he came upon a possible realization; he couldn't believe he hadn't thought of it until now. ]

But if that were true, when we struck down that spider, it should've been the end of it. Instead, that just released the curse from its shackles, though I'd agreed with that false Doctor on the matter when he proposed that as a conclusion.

It could be what they called 'home' and the true 'weakpoint' of it all lay somewhere else all along. Somewhere in the lower depths of that accursed house, where the vessel had dragged Seteth to.

improbablenotimpossible: (The fact of the matter...)

Yes, some species of spiders have subterranean dens, the Mother is perhaps one of those types.

[He clasps his hands together]

It does mean we will need to prepare to break through or otherwise bypass the floors to get to it.

[ He didn't nod, but naturally since he said such things aloud, he agreed with that possibility. ]

We've an insurmountable collection of firepower now. It shouldn't be impossible, even for some of these mongrels.

[ Gilgamesh wasn't friendly with most of the people here. Far from it. But, there were a lot of them, and some of them he could sense had a good amount of firepower. ]

Naturally, we'll have to go through the ghosts either way, seeing as they're bound to be a nuisance on the way there, and we plan to 'rescue' them, as it were.
