Week 7: Fast Forward to 2020

It is done.

The last tape has played. All of the information that can be found from them has been discovered. They are free to re-watch the tapes, but nothing new can be found there.

The barrier will fail next Saturday. This is unavoidable. The barrier set by Tages will finally fall, and the curse will be free once more.

The only question is, what will those left alive in 2020 do to prepare?

Haha....well, at least I know everyone here will be in good hands, as loathe as I am to admit it.

[He comes forward, standing at his side - staring out at the manor himself, before handing a folded piece of paper over.]

Especially since I'll be leaving soon, it seems.

[He glances to the side as he accepts the paper, opening it]

'Only look this up if I am gone for three months or more, or something major happens in the meantime.'

Outwardly, he continues talking as if nothing is wrong.]

Indeed - And, well, I believe they'll be able to handle this without me. My specialty certainly doesn't lie in the realm of dispelling curses.

[Another pause, as he looks over.]

...Yes, indeed. And there may be a future 'fire' of sorts coming - then again, I could merely be mistaken. Still, best to cut off the possibility at the head before the worst, hm?

[If it was before the Witch's game, he would've disobeyed - however, he had - strange as it may seem - learn there are at certain aspects he can trust his Nemesis in, and this was one of them. He refolds and pockets the note]

Yes, I agree - unfortunately, as a Detective, my speciality only comes in after a disaster occurs. Someone such as yourself is better at making preemptive moves.

Yes, well - indeed, my expertise is in making plans! And I feel as if this is something that indeed warrants for me to 'place myself on the board', as it were.

[Another pause, as he looks over.]

After all, I am not someone who came from the machine, as the rest of you did, and was originally summoned by someone who once could have been considered a 'native' of this world. Thus, I play by slightly different rules.

[He catches that slight motion. Sherlock had always wondered what other ways besides the origin of his arrival would make Moriarty different from the 6350s.

Though, it seems he hit the mark a little more closely than Moriarty had anticipated]

Which when the time comes out would give us an advantage - having a wildcard up our sleeve.

Exactly! For as much as you are my nemesis, Holmes - it is comforting to know that at least one man on this earth can match my wits.

Something is about to threaten this world. ..At least, if my calculations are correct, that is. And as much as I have very little connection to this world by itself, it does still contain those I have come to care for.

There are many threats... though you seem to narrow down to a specific one.

[Sherlock could not quite keep the slight annoyance out of his voice at the fact that he didn't pick up what Moriarty did]

We certainly found our attachments here despite perhaps our better judgment.

A year ago I would agree, Moriarty - trusting each other? People would think we've gone barking mad.

[It's unspoken, the sense of knowing about each other in a way they wouldn't have allowed under normal circumstances]
