RECORDING 15: THE FIFTH TRIAL.

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where all the trials so far have taken place. As all of you enter, the Vessel is there - Ango, standing as firm and unyielding as ever, waiting for the time when the trial is scheduled to begin.
On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.
Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessel...and each other.
One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.
...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?
The choice is up to you.
PEOPLE TO VOTE OUT: 2
WEEK 5 VOTING
1/???
And you can shut the hell up for all I care.
[And then he turns to Hikage coldly, violet eye burning with fury before raising his gun and pointing it right at the man's head. It's a quick movement, practiced and natural. Like another day on the job, catching criminals.]
Hey, Hikage! I'll be the one taking you to hell.
2/????
And then he hears his name, not from Ango's lips, along with that declaration. A split second later his mind catches up a bit, was it really Date all along? He doesn't have time to think any further, all he can do at this point is embrace it all. And so, he does the only thing he can do. ]
Ahahahahahahahaha!!!! I'll be in good—
3/3 cw: gore
...There was a question about the kinds of rounds he'd had loaded, wasn't there? Well, everyone here now gets to find out first hand. It's out with a flash, spinning towards Hikage's head before landing home dead center in the middle of his forehead. A pause, and then--
Hikage's head explodes in a shower of gore and bone.
And as everyone takes this new development in, Date's eyes will flicker back to their usual colors as he inhales sharply, gaze transfixed on the Hikage's corpse.]
1/2
He glances down at Hikage's body, then to his notes, then up to Date.]
Well. I suppose I can count that for one of the executions. Thank you for making it prompt, Date-san.
[Unfortunately, now it's Date's turn.]
2/2 CW: EYE GORE, GORE
You enjoyed that, didn't you? Holding someone else's life in your hands. Taking control. Taking revenge for what he tried to do to you. You enjoyed every moment of it, didn't you?
[Date opens his mouth to respond, but before he can get a word out Ango sets the notebook down on a nearby shelf and continues speaking.]
Unfortunately for you, I'm not as generous as you are. A quick explosion isn't in your future.
[He strolls over to Date, taking his time. He clicks his pen a few times, the sound punctuating his quiet steps. Both clicks and steps stop as soon as he is in front of Date.]
So please refrain from fighting back, it will only make this worse.
[One more click, extending the point of the pen.
((EYE GORE STARTS HERE))
And then, in one swift motion, Ango shoves the pen into Date's left eye socket. In one swift motion he uses it to pop Date's eye out entirely, leaving Date screaming and reaching for that side of his face as the eye falls to the ground.
Next comes the right eye, another swift motion. And with Date busy grasping for the left side of the face, he doesn't notice the movement in time to protect his right eye.
((END EYE GORE))
As a blinded Date falls down to his knees from the pain, Ango tosses the now-bloody pen aside. Then he crouches down near Date, placing a hand on one of his shoulders. The tone he uses next is a soothing one, completely at odds with what he just did.]
Shhh, it's alright. You've performed wonderfully, so I will give you permission to die.
[Then he lets go and stands up again, leaving Date on the ground. He reaches for his gun, hidden on a holster under his coat. While both he and the coat are ghostly, the gun is very much real. And when Ango shoots, three very real bullets end up in Date's chest.
Date's screams turn to gurgles as he falls forward, body shaking as he attempts to draw in breaths. But that air can't reach him, not with how those precise shots have wrecked his lungs. All he can do is struggle as he chokes on his own blood. Eventually the effort becomes too great to manage, and his body stills.
Kaname Date is dead.
Ango tucks the gun away and turns to face everyone else.]
You're dismissed. Return to your rooms and rest up for the weekend.

but things must go on. there's no other way but forward.
so with a sigh, he walks away. ]

And, well, beyond that, she pays very little attention at all. There's no sobbing, no further sounds, just a silent stream of tears as she sits on the ground, exhausted.]

[She drops to her knees again, the sight of his face etched into her memory... she dry-heaves a few times, painfully, until she's full out on her hands and knees and trying to control herself, torn between sobbing, crying, wretching, and gasping in pain.
It hurts.]

As cruel as he had been, the phrase was in the back of his head, even as he watched quietly when Hikage's blood met with the floor. He'd never have said they were friends, because there was only one person who occupied that space. He'd really have never said that, and would've denied such things, but...
...
How much of Date's execution he watched due to it was debatable, but he was probably paying minimal attention. Though he suddenly wasn't interested with watching that either. At this point, it felt like the creature would be getting off too much to their despair, and ... there's that strange feeling when people you're used to speaking with on a consistent basis die. Though it's not something he's unaccustomed to, it's just...
He'll try not to think too hard about it. He'll turn to see what the others were doing after his own delay, before even thinking of leaving (and then eventually, leave.) ]

Date.... some minor regret there, since he was useful and one of the smarter people here. His fault for getting found out though.]

He quietly strolls out of the room, carrying it off into the unknown. If someone's interested, they can follow him since he's not going anywhere the living can't reach. But, like, why would you? ]
