RECORDING 15: THE FIFTH TRIAL.

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where all the trials so far have taken place. As all of you enter, the Vessel is there - Ango, standing as firm and unyielding as ever, waiting for the time when the trial is scheduled to begin.

On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.

Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessel...and each other.

One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.

...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?

The choice is up to you.

VICTIMS: Battler Ushiromiya and Giovanni Potage
PEOPLE TO VOTE OUT: 2

WEEK 5 VOTING

Only in the bath...?

Oh!

[His eyes widened]

Dazai... I don't think you were far off the mark with the idea of Illusions

...An illusion in which they could use to trick Battler as to whom he was seeing, perhaps?

Yes. Long as Battler doesn't realize magic is being used, it should work.

...What if the person Battler 'saw' was someone he trusted, that's why - he looked like that.

[ ... Oh hell. ]

It'd make sense. Hence, perhaps, even the reason for why he wrote that note.

This still does not resolve the fundamental question of who would be able to do such a thing, however.

I don't think I remember hearing anyone talk about it, but... There are probably all sorts of things people have kept to themselves.
zweivoltage: (Stop messing around.)

Yes... I wonder if it's sensed it in the Bathtub - if the magic is something that has to be worn like paint?

Having to wash it off after being used...

It could also be from someone that, as Marona has mentioned, keeps their abilities a secret from the rest.

I've never heard of a spell that needed to be washed away. Does dark magic need to be purified like that before it goes away?

I don't know either, I'm grasping at straws here.

... yeah, I was asking about that because I'm paranoid about being set up in a frame-job...

[he'll be honest.]

If Battler-kun went to the Conservatory because someone he was close to appeared to be drawing him there... Battler-kun wouldn't have realized because it's only the balatant sort of magics that would get negated.

It might not have to be someone he was close to. It could be someone he thought was responsible for him that day, right?

Date-san and I are about the same height and we both would have been people he would have checked in with. There's also the fact that we're both likely good marksmen. However, the evidence was so blatant to point to Date-san that I got worried...

Plus, anyone who knows my history would know how much of a mockery it would be if I were found guilty. So...

[look, he said he was paranoid???]
