A fifth week, and this is now definitely routine. Waking on friday, with the knowledge deep down that your number has yet again decreased.

You must still pull yourself from your bed, and discover who is now forever gone.

The Miasma is choking, almost triumphant as you search the hallways -

looking for the ones that have had their lives cut short so cruelly...

Battler!!! No!

[ romani acherman doesn't like pain. whether physical or emotional, he's far more afraid of feeling pain than anything else. it's why he prefers to stay distant from others, in order to avoid the eventual pain that will come with interpersonal relationships. the pain of arguments, of betrayal--

of loss.

romani feels his knees give way right in front of battler's corpse, his own uniform pants quickly becoming stained by the blood. in his chest, he feels a pain that hurts far beyond the injury he's putting a strain on. logically, he realizes that it's grief but... that doesn't make it any better.

it takes a while for him to realize that this is because he is sobbing, the tears hot and painful as they run down his cheeks.

i couldn't save you. i couldn't save you i couldn't do it i couldn't i couldn't i couldn't--

he screams. ]

[ Fun fact:

Wine room's close by the conservatory. Not as close as the dressing room but you know a scream carries through the open hallway to the door, and so he's running this way now.

He's got an axe AND tablet in hand as he came into view, but...

No, that's not what's needed here. ]

[ He'll summon both items away and come closer to the other male, and then he'll figure what's going on here once the view of Battler's dead body came into view. Which did nothing to ease the tension, though the fact Romani was not a dead body helped. A little. ]

...Doctor. You can't stay here.

[ He'll reach out, figuring he'll need to help pull him up and also he didn't want to wait too long because leaving Romani sitting in that blood would not do any good for any of them. ]
