RECORDING 14: THE FIFTH MURDER.

A fifth week, and this is now definitely routine. Waking on friday, with the knowledge deep down that your number has yet again decreased.

You must still pull yourself from your bed, and discover who is now forever gone.

The Miasma is choking, almost triumphant as you search the hallways -

looking for the ones that have had their lives cut short so cruelly...

[Oddly enough, not much - though the incinerator door is closed.

The other odd thing is the flashlight lying on the ground in front of the incinerator - It looks to be small and handheld, and Foundation issue. There are quite a few of them in the armory, normally.]

[Lets have a look at that incinerator. Is it locked or blocked at all? Any signs of ash outside of it, like it had flown out or smeared from hand or footprints? Signs of smoke ir it having been turned on?]

[ Nice, he doesn't need to get his hands dirty if Gin has that covered. So let's look at the flashlight is it on or off? And is there anything else he can see while crouching down next to it? Blood? Dirt? ]

[The flashlight is off, and there doesn't seem to be anything on it. If he picks it up, it'll easily turn off and on - it's still functioning.

The Incinerator isn't locked or blocked off at all, and it's well made enough to not have let any ash out, and there aren't any hand or footprints around. Though now that Gin is close enough, he'll be able to smell a whiff of burnt rubber coming from it.]

[The rubber smell is concerning, but time to open it very carefully and check inside.

How full is it? Anything salvageable?]

[ He does pick it up after ensuring he's not going to ruin any evidence, and after confirming it works he'll pocket it to take to trial. Anything else going on in this room? Gin has the incinerator but he'll look over the rest of the room for anything else that may be on the floor or out of place. ]

[When it's opened, that burnt rubber smell is even more pronounced - along with the smell of burnt leather. There is also a medium-sized pile of ash inside.

As for the rest of the room, Hikage will be able to see a pistol behind a pile of fuel for the incinerator. It looks to be the same Foundation issued, 9mm pistol as normal.]

[Is the ash still hot? Can he identify what the rubber or leather is from? Strips, a jacket, someone’s prized heifer? How big is “medium”?]

[ Why throw this back here, killer-san. He'll pick it up carefully and inspect it, is it fully loaded? ]

[The ashes aren't hot, and don't contain anything inside of them. They just seem like a medium pile of ashes - like if you'd put in a shirt or two shoes in there.

The Gun, however, isn't fully loaded - there's 3 bullets left, and the bullets themselves...are blanks.

With this knowledge, it feels like they've found everything they can here.]
