From the white lights, the darkness comes...

They've made their choices and no matter what happened in the coming days, they will lie in the beds they made for themselves. Whatever that should mean for each and every single person still living here.
That being said, there's still new choices to make. In the days to come, what will those be?
sunday;

[ Fuck. ]

[ That's not even sarcastic. He's just like, really. Really. ]
Hmph, not that you should be moving around much in the first place, but my point still stands.
no subject
[ they do say that doctors make the worst patients. here's example number 1.
however, his expression does drop, sighing in defeat. ]
And I...wanted to see the living room. I needed to see what had happened.
no subject
My point still stands, fool.
[ He'll huff. ]
...You can see it after we're done speaking if you desired to see the remains of that man so badly. And I do mean it, since there's something we should discuss.
private.
it's hard to hide how much he doesn't want to have a conversation with gilgamesh, now when things are happening but...
... ]
Let's go back in the room, then.
[ he'll sit down on the bed that belonged once to ango, readying himself. ]
no subject
Heaven orhell, let's rock. ]Very well.
Was there some kind of change in you recently that I should know of? I noticed a difference towards the end of the trial, as you were well on your way to fainting.
[ Because apparently he didn't smell like butter anymore. That's like, the weirdest thing to say and it sounded so ... ridiculous.
Anyway, he'll follow and sit down nearby him either way. ]
no subject
[ right.
there's a long silence that follows after the king's question. not because romani doesn't understand--he clearly does.
he's just wondering what the fallout will be if he tells the truth...
ah well. what will any secrets be good for now, with ango dead? ]
You know when we came here, and I brought some things with me? Medical equipment, some rations, all that normal stuff. I also brought one extra thing with me.
[ ... ]
I don't sweat butter. And it sounds stupid to even think about it but... I needed to act like I did. So I brought a stick of butter or two and I've been trying to put it on every once in a while.
no subject
And so you do not.
[ ... ]
Indeed, you're right in that it sounded idiotic like that. But I suppose this has something to do with what we spoke of last time, doesn't it?

[ he nods gravely, lifting his uninjured arm to pull his glove off. yes, it's done with his teeth but that's all he has now that one of his arms is busted.
he settles the hand with the ring on his knee, for gilgamesh to see. ]
The ring that I have...it's, how do I explain, the connection to the power that I had in my previous life. And it's a lot of power. Because of that I didn't want to tell the Foundation this...or anyone, really. I don't want this to fall into the wrong hands, King Gilgamesh. If it did... it would be a disaster. So, I lied. And I'm sorry.
[ he pauses for a moment, looking down at his hand...and then at gilgamesh. ]
King Gilgamesh. With my injury, I'll now be little more than a sitting duck. I'll be the perfect target. And if that's the case...and I do show up dead this next week...I need you to take this ring. Destroy it, protect it, I don't care what happens, as long as this ring doesn't fall into anyone else's hands.
...Please. That's all I ask for.

[ That's really where they're at now. ]
...knowing the current pattern, you may as well give it to me before the end of Thursday. I'll easily be able to keep it in a place no one will be able to reach.
I'd like to say that I could guarantee neither of us will die as well, but that'd be nothing short of foolishness. Still, it's not an outcome I'd like to come to pass.
[ After the trial's conclusion, Gilgamesh felt their chances basically have decreased to that point where he could no longer guarantee anything other than their deaths. The visions seemed to serve as a hint due to suspiciously no mention of such a mission, and the current state of 6350's at all from the first one.
He's not an idiot. He could put things together to the most likely conclusion.
Still, as he said before, he'll go down fighting no matter what conclusion they're headed towards. It's what he decided when his visions more or less spelled out what would happen...everyone being dead in Uruk. So it's unsurprising that it'd be his decision again. ]
In the meantime, I do believe a week or so back, Jack's healing devices were found. So maybe they'll have some use in regards to doing something for your injury.

[ there's a lot of reasons why romani wouldn't immediately jump to the idea of giving gilgamesh the ring. while the king is trustworthy, it is still an artifact of great importance and it makes it difficult for him to part with it.
however, he still has enough days to think about it until then, and he has no plans to get himself into any unnecessary investigations. so, unless the house falls on him or the likely chance that someone kills him between thursday and friday, romani supposes that he won't be dying before then.
however, the talk about healing devices does make him look up at the king, before shaking his head. ]
It depends on how many there are. If there's only one, then I'd prefer if it were used on Rosa-- she can't even speak. My injury isn't nearly as bad.
[ even if it hurts like hell. ]
no subject
Even if he knew that their hopes were low, he could still entertain foolish notions. ]
Hmph. Not to say that hers isn't worse than your own, but it's only natural I would think of you first.
[ Honestly, he had thought Rosa had taken his suggestion to see a healer or something before the healing by spell had become ineffective, but apparently not. Then again, it seemed like something that may never heal, depending. ]
...Regardless of the discussion of such items, I've something to give you. And you will accept a gift from your King.
no subject
[ well, he can't help but pout at that. of course gilgamesh would think of what belonged to him, and of course romani would think of anyone except himself, even at a time of need.
but he does blush a little as gilgamesh mentions a 'gift'. he can't help but feel somewhat curious, but also slightly bashful. ]
That's...of course, I'll accept it. But I don't have anything to give back...
no subject
And it's been awhile since he's seen the red little blush...Gilgamesh suddenly felt proud of himself as he leaned forward to give him a quick peck on the Doctor's lips, the urge too strong to resit.
If only he could take him to a nice place. ]
Of course you do. A few kisses here or there will do since you can hardly easily embrace your gracious, beloved King in such a state.
[ He'll seem to reach into his red robes (because he was wearing those right now and I do what I want), bringing out a golden box, so Romani could have an idea he didn't exactly extract it from his robes, maybe but somewhere else. ]
I'll spoil you a little. Inside is a bracelet, and another you'll see on your own. The other item can be a little useful in the case of a dangerous situation, but nothing more than that. So despite its appearance, it has a practical use.
no subject
[ the scoff that comes from roman is weak and, in reality, just an attempt to hide the way he flusters in response to the surprise kiss.
but the golden box makes romani's eyes widen, and he's stunned speechless for a couple seconds before he feels the tears prick again at his eyes. damn it, he's been crying so much lately...
he rubs at his eyes with the back of his good hand, before taking the golden box like it's precious on its own and settling it on his lap. he leans to kiss gilgamesh. it's brief, however, especially with how his injury aches sharply.
however, he manages to smile despite it. ]
...Thank you. Thank you so much.
[ and with that said, he'll open the box. ]
no subject
[ Such a beautiful expression Romani held right now. He didn't have much love for technology, but he couldn't help but wonder if it would be so bad for him to take a silly little photo.
And he definitely smiled into the return kiss, which wasn't something he's done often, but he couldn't help it.
There's definitely a bracelet in there as he said, as well. It's unsurprisingly golden, and looked pretty gaudy on it's own, with a few pieces of garnet too. There's also a golden necklace to accompany it, and a trinket with a gem connected to it that looked like it could be worn on a finger but it was more or less fitted by the golden string to be attached to said necklace instead. ]
Hmph. Naturally, I'll accept your gratitude graciously. A King like myself always has room to be generous to those who are worth my time.
