RECORDING 12: THE FOURTH TRIAL.

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where all the trials so far have taken place. As all of you enter, the Vessels are there - Flayn in her darkly pious glory, and Haku, ever the perfect shadow at her side.

On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.

Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessels...and each other.

One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.

...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?

The choice is up to you.

VICTIM: Ango Sakaguchi
PEOPLE TO VOTE OUT: 1

WEEK 4 VOTING

It may have been like what Sissel said, that this could have been to distract from the artes that were used.

How do artes work, by the way? From what I understand, they are your world's equivalent to magic, correct?
reanimania: (welp)

[personal profile] reanimania 2020-05-09 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah-- yes, I tend to refer to others' magic that way much of the time out of habit.

Fonic artes use an incantation to draw on the power of one of the seven fonons, either for an attack or for healing and protection -- though the latter is limited to the Seventh Fonon, and can only be used by people with a natural affinity for it.

[personal profile] white_camellia 2020-05-09 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
There are seven of them? Hmm...

[She's going to think about this, and...]

...I cannot picture it. What kind of domains do they have?
reanimania: (you left your albums at my place)

[personal profile] reanimania 2020-05-09 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
From first to last, the elements are darkness, earth, wind, water, fire, light, and sound. The corresponding aggregate sentience for each -- Shadow, Gnome, Sylph, Undine, Efreet, Rem, and Lorelei. The last is still hypothetical, though.

[personal profile] white_camellia 2020-05-09 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, so it is Sound? And it is the only one that can heal and protect?
reanimania: (you used too much mousse)

[personal profile] reanimania 2020-05-09 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Correct.

[ why does that make sense, who fucking knows ]

It's also the only one that requires that special affinity to be able to control it. Attempts to use it by those who aren't Seventh Fonists... don't end well.

[personal profile] white_camellia 2020-05-09 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I see... So anyone can potentially control the other fonons, then? Though I imagine skill with one fonon does not necessarily apply to the others.
oxidegreen: (Looking ahead.)

[personal profile] oxidegreen 2020-05-09 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Are there lightning artes, too?
reanimania: (welp)

[personal profile] reanimania 2020-05-09 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[ sweats!! ]

N-no. I mean... not exactly, there's no electric element on its own. Similar things can fall under either Sylph or Rem, though.
oxidegreen: (Watching you.)

[personal profile] oxidegreen 2020-05-09 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
What are Sylph and Rem?
reanimania: (you left your albums at my place)

[personal profile] reanimania 2020-05-09 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Wind and Light.
white_camellia: (Normal Joy)

[personal profile] white_camellia 2020-05-09 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
It seems that they are Wind and Light. Apparently in his world the elements have a will of their own.

[Isn't this stuff interesting, though?]
oxidegreen: (Looking ahead.)

[personal profile] oxidegreen 2020-05-09 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[That is interesting, probably?]

Is he the only one from a world with magic like that?
white_camellia: (Normal Joy)

[personal profile] white_camellia 2020-05-09 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I cannot say for certain, but I know that my world certainly does not operate on such principles, at least. It seems quite unique, does it not?
oxidegreen: (Watching you.)

[personal profile] oxidegreen 2020-05-09 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think magic works like that in my world either, but a mage would know better than me.

[Maronaaaa, she was trying to be subtle about it!]
