the truth is, everyone wishes to be saved.

The execution has come and passed with the death of two more Agents. However time moves on without cease and so must the living. There are no celebrations, only the silence that grows heavier and heavier with every day and the feeling that something is pleased with what it has done.
There are two more days before the new week arrives: what will you do?

[Rosa had a lot of things she wanted to scream at him... a girl that age isn't allowed to be responsible for her actions. That she didn't deserve it. That maybe Rosa... deserved to die instead.
That last thought was spurned by flashbacks to a dark time the miasma wasn't letting her forget, to the point it made her dizzy. But...
Slowly, she started to scrawl her reply:
"I understand."
She flipped it around before turning it back, remembering the second part of what he said:
"You think it'll work...?"]

But he also knew that allowing it to hold them back would do no favors. And as King, it was up to him to remind the others of such.
Though, given his nature, it was rarely a gentle reminder.
But something in Rosa's response made him settle for now. ]
...I do. We've discussed this before—what we must do, despite the difficulty of our situation. And to waver from that conviction would be the greatest insult of those who passed, and those who will.

[She nods, then writes a little more:
"I'm sorry for being so wretched. I'm just a weak woman, after all."
Still, she's writing it with some attempt at irony. She flips it back and adds a little more:
"Anyway... there's going to be a lot of people here who want to wallow in sorrow for a while. The hard part is getting the collective morale back up, don't you think?"]

[ He's aware she's said as much.
Though, Gilgamesh wouldn't exactly call her just a 'weak, spring maiden'. Not in the traditional sense, even with traits of weakness present. ]
It'll be a difficult task, but not impossible.
[ For now, he supposed. This was part of why he was hunting down certain people after the trial now, actually. ]
Especially when they realize that they'll hardly have time to sit in it for long, what with them knowing the creature would be undoubtedly looking to exploit such a weakness.

[She nods a few times, considering, then tries the next page:
"The shock of the appearance of the next vessel and the fear will motivate people.
In the mean time... watch out for Battler. He has a breakdown every other day."]

The paranoia that was gripping them would lead someone to take action once more, but they all had the feeling that this wasn't the end of it, so it was only natural. Gilgamesh expected it as well. ]
To make such a brazen request of me...but I suppose it is to be expected.
[ They appeared to be related, after all. That said, he remembered the scream on his way out of the living room following the trial. ]
And his mental state undoubtedly would be fragile following Rin's death. Perhaps I shall see to him soon enough.

She holds her notepad in front of her and, without looking down at it, writes a neat clipped message, before turning it:
"It's not brazen to request consideration to my grieving nephew, Your Highness."]

A part of him found that the idea was, in actuality, laughable. Enough for him to easily say something that'd sound harsh. Regardless...it is a request he's decided to hear, despite the irony.
He's managed to be civil with Battler before, surely simply keeping watch wouldn't be too difficult. ]
I suppose not.
[ ... ]
But, I've heard your request well enough. Let it be known that my consideration still stands.

[She flips to a pre-written page that says: "Thank you," face relaxing and giving a little sigh.]

Consider it something like the act of a King feeling magnanimous on a whim.
[ He'll go ahead and start making some tea, lest he be too tempted to start drinking something else for what he felt was much too early for.
He's muttering, but surely loud enough for her to hear: ]
If they must have us in this wretched and accursed place, there should be more variety in what's offered as a drink.
