WEEK 2 - TRIAL

The morning seemed so far away yesterday - yet, it also seems too soon when morning comes and you are all yet again ushered to the third floor by The Lady. The Captain is there, in all of his....glory? It's hard to tell.
The doors close, and he speaks up, this time reclining on one of the couches in the room.
"You know the drill - Since one of you have died during the game, it's your responsibility to try and vote someone out. You have six hours to talk about it, but then-"
He taps on a box on the coffee table in front of him, labeled 'VOTES'.
"-you'll have to put in your vote so someone can be punished. You all saw what happens when you refuse to play, right?"
He leans back, placing his hands behind his head.
"So get to it."
As he says that, music begins to play in the room...
27 GUESTS REMAIN.

VOTING RESULTS
[The authoritarian voice that suddenly washes over everyone makes the entire action stop. Even The Captain wakes up, as The Lady walks into the room, accompanied by the short woman you saw last week beside her.]
This is a trial, not an arena! Stand down!
[The shorter one lifts her hands, grinning as she motions in one swift gesture to the walls.
Every single person there, except for The Captain, is plastered against the nearest wall, which rises up to cover their arms and legs. It's like struggling through sticky syrup if they try to move them.
The Lady looks at The Captain, who quickly straightens up, stands, and unfurls the parchment.
FLAT - 24
MAKOTO - 2
BENNINGS - 1
After that, the woman lets everyone go - all crashing to the floor in a heap, as she nods to The Lady, who speaks again.]
I will tolerate no more fighting. Those that fight before the execution will be punished with impunity. Barghest - this includes you.
[After that announcement, The Captain steps forward, looking at everyone.]
Flat Escardos was Guilty, and The Barghest. Congrats on finding an actual Mafia member this time. Idiot Genius - you'll be escorted back to your room, where you'll have your final meal. Anyone who wants to see you may, in the comfort of your own room. Escape attempts or rescue missions will not be tolerated, and anyone who tries will be instantly removed from the game.
Now get your asses back to the lobby.

Still he can't help but look around as he sees the results (still hiding behind Ripley).]
Might I ask who saw all of that and thought that Bennings did it?

The mafia sucks, in that case.
[Words of a genius.]

[Seriously, who the hell does that]

Might've done it as a joke, since everyone with sense would vote for the Barghest and therefore Bennings would not win majority. Very poor joke, if so.

Son of a... Is everyone... okay?

and then, he smiles. it's serene, but also...fulfilled. ]
I may have been caught, but I have not lost. My God has received his sacrifice, and will continue to do so in the future. Your futile attempts will not stop me, even if this body is set in flames.

I guess it's over. [There's a glance over at Flat - no, the Barghest - before he makes his way back to the lobby.]
