TRIAL

The morning seemed so far away yesterday - yet, it also seems too soon when morning comes and you are all yet again ushered to the third floor by The Lady. The Captain is there, in all of his....glory? It's hard to tell.

The doors close, and he speaks up, this time reclining on one of the couches in the room.

"You know the drill - Since one of you have died during the game, it's your responsibility to try and vote someone out. You have six hours to talk about it, but then-"

He taps on a box on the coffee table in front of him, labeled 'VOTES'.

"-you'll have to put in your vote so someone can be punished. You all saw what happens when you refuse to play, right?"

He leans back, placing his hands behind his head.

"So get to it."

As he says that, music begins to play in the room...

He may not be able to. Regardless, asking him questions is pointless.

He could also be lying about actually having a role. Everything's fair game when it comes to mafia.

... I've been told "trust" is an important part of this game. It's up to each of us to decide if we trust him or not, but no matter which we choose questioning him will get us nowhere.

[Hmmmph. She's going to cross her arms.]

For now, I say we trust him.

[she stares at him for a long bit.

and then looks away, without asking any other questions]

[He sighs, he's as frustrated as anyone else here]

From what we've learned so far, it's either impossible or unlikely that anyone would admit their role, right? Like Snake-san last week.

[dereban]

I don't think anyone would give their role out in the open and admit it, especially when we don't even know what the other roles are, in this game... like, maybe they'd tell someone in private?

[ glances at Bennings tbh ] But definitely not out in public. Not this early.

Any role would make you a target. I feel like something as obvious as what's happening to Hibiki-kun might not be related to roles at all, if that's the case.

[xenoqueen]

Right. It'd be a serious mistake to reveal that you even have a role this early in the game, when anyone could be fair game.

[dereban]

There's one role that the mafi-- the monsters might potentially ignore until the very end, actually. Or at least, try to get that person on their side. Since third party roles can have a separate win condition and can potentially win with either the town or the mafia.

[purrtagonist]

[squints at her]

Which role is that?

[dereban]

You already brought it up, you dumbass.

But there's a variation of that role where if you lynch them, they can kill someone from the grave.

[purrtagonist]

[oh my god]

What? Since when did that variation exist?

[dereban]

It's in another variation of mafia for the PC. Plays the same way, roles are similar although some might be different in terms of gameplay.

[GOOD LORD]

That's stupid.

[he says bluntly]

The Fool is already a stupid role, but that's even stupider.

So he could be an ally. ... We should leave him and any other "third party" be. They're not who we're after, and revealing them or voting for them will only make them wary of us.

That's not necessarily true, either. Just leaving them alone means the mafia could snatch them up, right?

[swordhandled]

I think he means more we shouldn't reveal their role at this point in the game.

[latebluemer]

Ah, that's true... I do think learning more about the third party roles is something we shouldn't slack on, though.

Yeah, exactly.

We should try to stay away from voting for anybody who might be third party.
