WEEK 2 - TRIAL

TRIAL

The morning seemed so far away yesterday - yet, it also seems too soon when morning comes and you are all yet again ushered to the third floor by The Lady. The Captain is there, in all of his....glory? It's hard to tell.

The doors close, and he speaks up, this time reclining on one of the couches in the room.

"You know the drill - Since one of you have died during the game, it's your responsibility to try and vote someone out. You have six hours to talk about it, but then-"

He taps on a box on the coffee table in front of him, labeled 'VOTES'.

"-you'll have to put in your vote so someone can be punished. You all saw what happens when you refuse to play, right?"

He leans back, placing his hands behind his head.

"So get to it."

As he says that, music begins to play in the room...

Before anyone decides to vote for Snake again, I can tell you already that he's in the clear.

I saw him on Friday morning and he was covered in glitter and alcohol. I haven't seen the crime scene, but no one would be going around murdering in that state.

You can kill first and get drunk after. Just saying.

Does Snake look like the kind of person who would throw a literal party after killing a child?

If anyone simply looked like they'd gore Yoshi this way, we wouldn't be having this trial.

No, I'm sure he's right. Snake's in the clear for this death.

Ah, that reminds me. I believe the alcohol was yours? Would you mind explaining to us what happened?

I set up somethin' to catch anyone goin' into his room to kill him or somethin'. Alcohol's gonna make you stink for a while, and you can't get rid of glitter that easily. It'd have pointed at someone without fail -- Bennings and I made sure it'd work flawlessly.

Looks like it didn't because Snake decided he had to leave his room no matter what. So much for a flawless plan.

[Snake grunts in confirmation, no longer covered in alcohol but there's still a dusting of glitter over him. He's a sparkly Snake.]

... I get the alcohol, but why the glitter?

[Reaches over to dust some glitter off of his shoulder, frowning. Ah shit now there's glitter on her hand.]

At least now if we ever see glitter anywhere, we'll know you've been there.

[Shoots Snake a fake glare.]

[Rolls eyes.]

We were literally just talking about glitter bombs the other day. So unless there was glitter at the crime scene, I doubt Snake was the one to do it.

Why was he covered in that? Did he have a party?

[Flatly:]

No. [Then, with a grunt.] I heard someone setting something up outside my room...turns out it was a trap.

I can confirm that the entrance to Snake's room was covered in glitter and broken bottles of alcohol.

There was no sign of anyone having passed through it, from what I saw.

So no footprints through the glitter? Hmm...

[Okay, maybe Drunken Adults are indeed clear.]

Was anyone else in the room with him? That might actually give us a few clear people besides Bennings-san.

If Snake's covered in that then it's a pretty clear sign he passed through there.

[As much as that frustrates Iwai, it's undeniable to him Snake is innocent. For that he can be kind of happy]
