RECORDING 7: THE THIRD WEEK.

A third week in this place begins, with less of your number among you. The final week completely covered by everyone's rations, though with proper meting out, you'll be able to make it stretch until after week 4. It seems as if everyone will have to go without a few meals here and there..
To make things worse, when you wake up - it's clear the Miasma has gotten thicker. Everyone, save those still protected either by their powers or items they brought with them, is now even more deeply affected by the curse. Arguments will be flaring up more, along with negative thoughts and feelings...and even more worrying Is that any magic that touches the house itself will corrode over time. If a barrier is put in place and touches the floor, walls, or ceiling, in half a day it will be completely consumed by the miasma and fizzle out. Spells or seals will also corrode, and even personal healing abilities have been halved.
The Temperature has dropped, just a bit - down to the mid to low 60's. Strange, isn't it? As before, the rooms have changed, so hopefully you kept anything essential in the static area.
25 of your number still remain.
...What new horrors await you this week?

He likely has the advantage of doing so due to being chosen as the vessel.

[Even his mental voice sounds amused. Rin's existence is probably useful enough confirmation of miasma purgatory here.]
So, what, the Vessel might be a hint about our traps?
no subject
I suppose not. But such a topic is irrelevant to my current answer.
[ As for his question, he looked thoughtful. ]
In that they would try to employ something they're good at or used to using in traps, yes. But we shouldn't count too much on that, simply that it's a possibility that they'll use such things against us.

Ghosts really can't stand being ignored, after all.
[They're kind of seeing that in real time somewhere in the meeting but y'know......]

He was considering how well killing a demonic cat would go over when he saw the trouble it was causing at the meeting and being nothing but a damn nuisance. Like god damn it was annoying ]
It just shows you that they too desire companionship in their own, twisted way.
Though I doubt just simply ignoring a trap would make them inclined to answer that they were involved out of the blue.

Why else do ghosts linger? Why else does any other kind of spirit wreak havoc among the living?
Though I can't say I feel sorry for them. They may not be inclined to say too much about their mischief, but some of them certainly do run at the mouth.

I'm not going to even bother saying 'don't remind me'. There are always constant incidents to perfectly illustrate as to how much foolishness and impudent nonsense spews forth from their mouths. Not unlike an unsightly image of someone airing their filthy laundry for all to see and hear.
I FORGOT ITALICS UPTHREAD jumping between threads rip
Oh, there was a very loud one just the other day. I'm afraid my eardrums are still recovering, so my memory is rather fuzzy.
[It was the tsundere incident.]
Which is why letting them come to us may be the best solution.
We can pretend it was all italics this whole time, pft
Of course; it's to be expected, considering the situation.
[ Absolutely an acceptable response, as far as he was concerned. How dare someone embarrass the King of Heroes like that!! ]
...are you sure they would not just become even more intensely obnoxious once we've deigned to allow them into our company?
no subject
Good luck, King of Heroes. Just generally.]
I'm sure they'll continue to be obnoxious either way; dealing with them on our own terms seems a bit more bearable, wouldn't you say?
[Well, they can try. It's hard to tell how much this lot will succeed. He's not married to the idea of these types of meetings, himself.]
no subject
We are always seemingly dealing with them on 'our own terms' during the day. I don't understand how this will make this anymore bearable than the usual.
If anything, it may simply become a trial of how long I can put up with them interjecting useless things and trying my patience until I've tired of their miserable existences. Even if it's now a matter of time, given what the methods to keep them out will be exhausted.
[ Gilgamesh also was sure some of the people may not be inclined to say much. But in the end, he believed that it was an inevitability that they will not longer be able to prevent the ghosts from truly participating. He just preferred that to happen later than sooner. ]
