RECORDING 7: THE THIRD WEEK.

A third week in this place begins, with less of your number among you. The final week completely covered by everyone's rations, though with proper meting out, you'll be able to make it stretch until after week 4. It seems as if everyone will have to go without a few meals here and there..

To make things worse, when you wake up - it's clear the Miasma has gotten thicker. Everyone, save those still protected either by their powers or items they brought with them, is now even more deeply affected by the curse. Arguments will be flaring up more, along with negative thoughts and feelings...and even more worrying Is that any magic that touches the house itself will corrode over time. If a barrier is put in place and touches the floor, walls, or ceiling, in half a day it will be completely consumed by the miasma and fizzle out. Spells or seals will also corrode, and even personal healing abilities have been halved.

The Temperature has dropped, just a bit - down to the mid to low 60's. Strange, isn't it? As before,the rooms have changed, so hopefully you kept anything essential in the static area.

[after feeling completely nonproductive yesterday, Rin can be found making an attempt to being productive for once. which is why let's try and investigate the renovation area, shall we? of course, before stepping in, she's going to take a few precautions - the first being to check for any magical pings, the second to take a breath and --

well.

she's going to be using magic to enhance her eyesight to check for any visible tripwires prior to entering. will she see anything? if not, she'll just straight up enter.

besides any sorts of investigation, Rin can be found in the halls wandering around--

however.

people will notice that from time to time, she'll actually stumble, putting a hand on a wall to steady herself. is.... is she okay? probably not.

a breather can also be found for her at the library, where she is, in fact perusing the occult section. obviously she's trying to see what this library has on ghosts, curses and the like... but she's mildly curious on books on witches and magic as well.

also feel free to wildcard her, too, if you'd like. she's around.]

[Well he'd been meanng to talk to Rin after that trial fiasco, so seeing her and Romani standing outside the renovation room, he pauses.]

Investigation

[ Welcome to the Renovation Area. Watch your step, there seems to be cement powder on the floors, trowels and loose nails and screws. There's glue, rolls of wallpaper, tools, wood, and paint cans around on the floor and up on a work bench.

Rin won't feel any magical pings. She won't see any trip wires either. It seems like this place might be safe. ]

[ well, roman would be taking the first step forward, but he can't see magically like rin can. ]

Looks like this place was in the midst of being remodeled before...everything happened. Can you see anything that might be a trap?

there's actually a lengthy pause on Rin's end, along with that, so she finds herself staggering back a bit. it's only for a brief moment, however before she finds herself shaking her head in an attempt to steady herself]

Mm...

There's nothing magical, not that I expected anything.

[which means none of Yuri's summons are in here, thank god]

I don't see trip wires, either, as far as I'm aware. [she then glances over at Haku] Do you mind taking the head? I'll go behind you and then Romani-sensei can be behind us.

[since she is very much aware that she can accidentally trigger a flashback at any given time and impede the investigation. but she also still has magic on her side, in spite of it being in its weakened state as it is]

[Not htat he has any kind of confidence that this room is actually safe, even without any magical signatures.]

However. [He opens up a flask of water, then performs a few hand seals to create a water clone that appears in front of him.] My clone will be taking the lead.

[And take the lead it does with Haku following a few feet behind. Time to have the clone walk into the room and see what there is to see. Or traps there are to spring really. Haku himself will be pulling out a few senbon as well, keeping an eye out for any unexpected movement.]

[ Walking in further doesn't yield any sudden traps or anything springing out at them.

The water clone might just have an issue with all the concrete powder on the floor. There's also a fine dusting of the powder with a set of boot prints in it. The pattern of the prints might seem a bit familiar. ]

Hey, Haku, are you sure your water clone will be fine with the concrete?

[ he's not even going to complain about being the one behind everyone. he knows he's the weakest out of the group.

that said, the prints are an interesting find. ]

Hey, didn't one of us find some boots a while back? From one of the Foundation uniforms?

[a slight grimace as she notices the prints]

Ah, yeah... I have them, but I left them in my room, though. Should I go grab them real quick?

[Ah the concrete is... indeed going to be an issue. Maybe not right away, but giving Romani a nod, he dispels the clone.]

Mm. Best not to create more of a mess.

[Then turning to Rin:]

Yes, we'll wait for you.

[Hi Rin how you doing after all those adventures. Marona's peering inside, walking along the shelves to look over the books before slowing to a stop by Rin.]

[she groans, as if fighting a headache but it's clear that there's something else bothering her]

[she snarls those words out, irritated and as if it were the most obvious thing in the world]
