The flowers that bloomed at the end of the trial are ones that only seem to prove, continuously, that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Of course, it's only natural that many of the people are full of mixed emotions - grief? sadness? anger? frustration? maybe something else completely different?

But it's there, along with the end of the week.

Miasma still continues to be around, of course - but make use of the fact that this might be the last time it'll be at a low level one before it shoots up again.


Well.

Life continues as usual, disregarding any feelings that any of the house's occupants might be feeling.

How do these epithets really work, anyway? You mentioned before that they were words in your soul, but what does that really mean?

Okay, it's like this.

An epithet is a word that gives you power over whatever that word represents. Like, my epithet is Soup, so I can... well, I can control soup. As long as it's related to your word, you can use those powers in pretty much any way you want. So for example, my minion back home, Bear Trap, her epithet is Dumb, right? So she can use it to mute sound, or to make people not smart. Uh, what else... about one in five people are inscribed... no two people can have the same epithet at the same time... am I missing anything?

I don't know if you did, but that... actually makes a weird amount of sense.

[Or well, as much sense as word powers can have. At the very least though, it's consistent with its own set of rules.]

But basically, you're saying you can do a lot more with your soup than just make it for people to eat, right?

Yeah, exactly! This guy gets it! Attack, defense, stealth, healing - all part of my balanced soup-epithet breakfast! How about you? You got any powers that need explaining about?
