nobody's in the mood for recording 6.9: the post-trial garden tea "party"

The flowers that bloomed at the end of the trial are ones that only seem to prove, continuously, that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Of course, it's only natural that many of the people are full of mixed emotions - grief? sadness? anger? frustration? maybe something else completely different?

But it's there, along with the end of the week.

Miasma still continues to be around, of course - but make use of the fact that this might be the last time it'll be at a low level one before it shoots up again.


Well.

Life continues as usual, disregarding any feelings that any of the house's occupants might be feeling.

So what are you doing these next two days?

[this has been Sho's favorite haunt this week, and since Olympia fixed the noclip glitch, he's trying to decide what to do. He's already got all the cards he could find stacked up by the door, and he's floating a few inches off the ground near one of the pool tables, deep in thought]

[Huh. Well there's a face he doesn't exactly miss seeing, although it does get Date to stop when he notices Sho hovering around in that corner of the room. He's honestly very tempted to just ignore the whole thing and go about his business, but... ugh. So while he won't quite approach, he won't shout from the other end of the room either; there's a good distance between them as Date stands there with arms crossed, voice as dry as a desert.]

...Enjoying yourself?

Nope.

[he turns to look at Date. The miasma around him is thicker than it was when he first appeared, but still way less than Olympia's been sporting all week]

You like billiards, copper?

[eyeforai]

[Glad I'm not the only one...

Then again, it'd be pretty messed up if anyone was enjoying their time here. Either way, his eyes narrow a bit at the haze of miasma before he directs his attention to the pool table.]

Never made a hobby of it, but I know how to play. You looking for an opponent?

I love billiards. Calculating the angles, the vectors, the bounce and the trajectory... it's geometry in motion. But, seeing as this room is likely gonna translate to a different set of coordinates, you whole numbers won't be able to use it anymore. So I was gonna move it so I could beat more people.

.... But it's heavy.

[indeed, there are some drag marks in the carpet where he's moved it a few feet from its original position]

[...Well, that's honestly more considerate than he gave Sho credit for, even if it was about him being able to amuse himself in the end.]

I guess it wouldn't be bad to have around next week. [...] Where were you planning to put it?

Mmm. The places with the maximum space and least likely chance of resetting are the entryway and the dining room. The dining room's coordinates are closer.

[eyeforai]

It'd be pretty awkward to play in the entryway anyway. [...Sigh.] You want help dragging this thing over?

[tangentlion]

[he gestures to it] If you're offering, then get on the positive x axis and I'll take the negative.

[which. basically translates to opposite ends of the table. He remains floating, but latches his fingers under the table's lip]

[I better not regret this...

Anyway, he'll move to the other side without protest, although there is some caution in the way he eyes Sho as he moves to grip the edge of the table.]

Alright, ready when you are.

[no tricks this time. It seems like Sho is still prioritizing his own benefit over the curse, for now. Between the two of them, it's easy enough. He does drop it rather abruptly and without warning once they make it to the dining room, though]

Sweet. I'll have to translocate some of these chairs, but there's plenty of room.

[That's all well and dandy, though he doesn't appreciate the sudden drop on Sho's end as the impact almost makes the end of the table slip from his own hands.]

Warn me before dropping it like that! [Ugh...] Anyway, we done here? No other remodelling projects in mind?

[Sho says nothing in response to that] Yeah yeah, I'm all finished up here. Just gotta move the rest of the stuff

[he also does not say thank you, but??? he wouldn't have anyway]

[This is why I hate punk kids...

And while he does hear Sho's muttering, he's not feeling charitable enough to offer on his own after that, so Date will turn around and give a half-hearted wave behind him.]

[Yeah, he's just going to leave otherwise.]

[and he is nothing if not a punk ass kid!! But yes, he will be coming and going from the arcade to the dining room, moving all the billiard balls and most of the cues]

[While Date will return to the arcade and occasionally glance back at what he's doing, he's more or less minding his own business with the machines, and won't make any further attempts at poking at the other unless something ridiculous happens.

But he's totally still think about what a rude kid Sho is!!]
